Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Milford Cote (ranked 6214 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ian Joy Virtudazo (ranked 4933 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Milford Cote! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ian Joy Virtudazo! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Fedor Mirinova and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A nice combination there by Cote.
Cote shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Virtudazo as he avoids it easily. Virtudazo changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Ian Joy Virtudazo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Virtudazo drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Virtudazo is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Cote is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Cote has escaped and now he's on top! Virtudazo is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Cote in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Virtudazo wants to stand but Cote is controlling the position. Cote throwing strikes but missing. Virtudazo wants to stand up but Cote is controlling him. Cote is looking to work some ground and pound but Virtudazo has wrist control. Cote content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Virtudazo manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Virtudazo pulls guard effortlessly. Cote stops Virtudazo from standing up. Cote throwing strikes but missing. Cote working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Virtudazo's head. Cote trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Virtudazo wants to get back to his feet but Cote is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Cote is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cote is looking to work some ground and pound but Virtudazo has wrist control. Cote throwing strikes from guard but Virtudazo blocks nicely. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Virtudazo can do anything to dispel that myth. Cote won't allow Virtudazo to get back to his feet. Virtudazo has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Cote is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. Virtudazo is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Cote to keep the fight standing. Cote breaks from the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Danga de danga de dang - Cote scores with a four punch combination! Virtudazo slaps away a takedown attempt from Cote, before circling back to the center of the mat. Virtudazo with the counter takedown but Cote avoids it easily. Virtudazo misses with a takedown and Cote counters with a lovely straight right hand! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. No luck with that takedown attempt from Cote. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Milford Cote. That's going to take a lot out of him. Cote fails with an attempt to clinch.
Virtudazo drives through with a takedown into guard. Virtudazo trying to control the position from guard on top but Cote is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Virtudazo trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Cote wants to stand and escape but Virtudazo is having none of it. Virtudazo passes into half guard. Virtudazo is stalling here. Cote is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Virtudazo seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Cote has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Cote is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Virtudazo knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Virtudazo wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Cote looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Virtudazo pushes Cote away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Cote gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Virtudazo takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cote grinds an elbow into Virtudazo's temple. Virtudazo pushes Cote away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Cote gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Sloppy strikes there by Cote. Virtudazo wants to get back to his feet. The strikes coming from Cote are missing the target in this wave of attacks. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Virtudazo swats away the attempt to clinch by Cote. Virtudazo fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Cote to the ground. Virtudazo is now in Cote's guard. Cote looking to control.
Virtudazo wants to pass the guard but Cote is keeping the position. Cote wants to stand and escape but Virtudazo is having none of it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Virtudazo is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Virtudazo stops Cote from standing up. Virtudazo wants to control from the top but Cote keeps moving.

Cote has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Virtudazo is working away from the top position though. Cote is trying is best to control the position here. Virtudazo is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Cote reverses the position - he's now on top in Virtudazo's guard. Virtudazo is looking to stand up but Cote isn't so interested in that idea. Cote will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Virtudazo stalling away here and it's allowed Cote to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Virtudazo postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Cote is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Virtudazo, into his guard. Cote working some strikes from top position. Cote trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Virtudazo preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Virtudazo is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Cote is controlling him. Cote wants to get up but he can't break Virtudazo's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Virtudazo wants to get back to his feet but Cote is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cote distracts Virtudazo with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Cote really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Virtudazo kicks Cote off and gets to his feet. Cote wants to clinch. Cote shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Cote showed some decent athleticism there. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Virtudazo pushes Cote off looking to stand but Cote dives back in and keeps control.

Ian Joy Virtudazo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Cote creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Virtudazo sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Virtudazo tries to escape but Cote is in control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cote is looking to take a break and control but Virtudazo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Cote misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Virtudazo is pushing Cote's head away, looking to escape. Cote manages to hold on to the position though. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Excellent takedown into side control there by Virtudazo.

Virtudazo is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Cote knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Virtudazo is trying to get an arm triangle but Cote is defending well. Virtudazo is working to tighten his grip on Cote's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Cote has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Virtudazo is really squeezing tight and eventually Cote passes out! Virtudazo breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
