Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Char Xiu (ranked 1601 p4p, 184 weight class) and Jonny Baker (ranked 2421 p4p, 258 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

6 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jonny Baker!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Richard Clark and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baker ducks right into an uppercut from Xiu.
Baker takes a shot right to the bread basket.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Xiu.
Baker has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Baker there as he acknowledges the shot.
Baker displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Xiu.
Baker tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Xiu has been working on his boxing with his coaches at EMPIRE K1 Academy in the buildup to the fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Xiu fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Baker manages to avoid it.
Xiu shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Baker decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Xiu's guard.

Xiu has Baker pulled in close to control his posture.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Xiu looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Baker with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Baker throws a big elbow that misses.
Baker is working Xiu over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
