Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chong Humphrey (ranked 24353 p4p, 0 weight class) and Huseyn Sagitov (ranked 4949 p4p, 0 weight class). Chong Humphrey has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Chong Humphrey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Huseyn Sagitov!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Sergei Dronov and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Humphrey dives in and grabs Sagitov's left leg, looking for a takedown. Sagitov pushes down on Humphrey's head and hops out.

Sagitov darts in and clinches Humphrey up against the cage.
Humphrey wants to break free but Sagitov has control.
Humphrey is trying to break the clinch but Sagitov is controlling him.

Sagitov lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Humphrey is trying to maintain the position but Sagitov is very close to passing his half guard.
Sagitov thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sagitov is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Humphrey controlling the position for now.
Sagitov uses his free foot to push down on Humphrey's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Humphrey.
Sagitov avoids the attempt from Humphrey to control.
Sagitov cracks Humphrey with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.


It looks like Chong Humphrey has been cut.

Sagitov is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Humphrey has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Humphrey!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Sagitov stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sagitov wants it to stay on the feet.
Huseyn Sagitov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Sagitov. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!



Sagitov drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Humphrey wants to get back to his feet but Sagitov is dominant here and he's now got Humphrey's back!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sagitov looking to break Humphrey's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Humphrey remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Sagitov will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Humphrey is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Sagitov is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Humphrey is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Sagitov gets his way!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sagitov takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Humphrey has gone for a leg lock! Sagitov slips out almost immediately though and dives into Humphrey's guard.

Humphrey is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Sagitov lands a couple of digs.

Sagitov drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Humphrey manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Sagitov has Humphrey in his guard.

Sagitov looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Sagitov bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Humphrey's guard.

Sagitov postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Sagitov wants to pass the guard but Humphrey is keeping the position.
Humphrey has a closed guard, preventing Sagitov from standing up.

Well Sagitov has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
