PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marco Giambi (ranked 21418 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hussein Stahl (ranked 2282 p4p, 98 weight class). Giambi comes to the cage accompanied by Mortal Kombat theme . Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marco Giambi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 17 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hussein Stahl!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Jorge Garcia and Columbo Gatti.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stahl swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Giambi closes the distance and clinches.
Stahl misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Stahl goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Stahl throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Giambi blocks it with crossed arms.
Giambi tries to land knees in the clinch but Stahl avoids the damage to the body.

Giambi breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Giambi throws a body shot but no joy.
Stahl swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Stahl will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Giambi walks into a left hand.

Giambi instigates a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Giambi with a knee to the head.
Stahl tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Giambi's elbow.
Stahl is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Stahl just misses with a elbow thrown towards Giambi's brow.
Stahl goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Stahl changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Giambi fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Marco Giambi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hussein Stahl.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Giambi gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Stahl ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Stahl no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Stahl thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Giambi has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Stahl to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Giambi is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Stahl pulls down on the head and he's put Giambi to sleep! This one is all over!
