Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Roger Savage! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John Jobs! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Ren Mimura and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Savage stuffs the takedown attempt from Jobs. Jobs gets slowly back to his feet. Savage tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Jobs manages to circle out of the way. Savage takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Jobs drives through and clinches with Savage against the cage.
Savage is trying to push Jobs away but Jobs has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Jobs manages to pull guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Jobs controlling the position. Jobs throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Savage could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jobs is adopting a defensive guard. Jobs wants to sweep but no luck.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jobs has his hands on Savage's head, controlling the position. Savage has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Jobs is looking for a triangle but Savage pushes his legs off easily.
Jobs is pulling down on Savage's head to control his posture. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Savage wants to control from the top but Jobs keeps moving.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. No luck with that takedown attempt from Jobs. Savage seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Savage shoots for a takedown but Jobs saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Some wild striking there from Savage.
Jobs goes for a double leg but Savage avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Savage continues to drive forward. Roger Savage has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Jobs. Jobs clinches up against the cage. Savage tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jobs smiles and moves away.
Jobs fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Jobs lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Jobs shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jobs attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Jobs with a lazy takedown attempt and Savage counters with a one-two to the body. Jobs shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Savage sprawls well. Savage wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jobs gets slowly back to his feet. Jobs looks winded! Savage feints and as Jobs raises his hands in defense, Savage changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Savage wants to control from the top but Jobs keeps moving. Savage is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jobs is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

No, Savage has managed to get both his arms back between Jobs's legs - danger averted. Jobs throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Savage being controlled here momentarily. Jobs looking to hit a scissor sweep but Savage is one step ahead there.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but John Jobs will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
The fight moves into the clinch position. Jobs is trying to force a seperation but Savage has the dominant position. Jobs slowing the pace effectively. Jobs is trying to pull guard but Savage has him pressed against the cage. Savage wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Savage has had enough of the clinch but Jobs keeps him there for the moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jobs has control of Savage's left arm, preventing Savage from doing any damage. Jobs is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Jobs has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Savage trying to control the position from guard on top but Jobs is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Savage throws a strike but Jobs rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Savage wants to get back to his feet but Jobs is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Savage working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Jobs. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jobs tries to free his leg and advance position but Savage is retaining full guard. Jobs postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Savage knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jobs on the ground. Savage being controlled here, momentarily. Savage wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Jobs manages to pass to side control. Jobs controlling the pace.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jobs wants to pass to mount but Savage is defending the position. Jobs content to control rather than advance. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Savage is trying to get back to full guard. Savage trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Jobs manages to pass to mount!
Jobs won't let Savage get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

John Jobs showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Jobs tries to roll over but Savage keeps him under control. Savage throwing shots but Jobs is blocking nicely. Jobs keeping hold of Savage's head, controlling as best he can. Savage is looking for a kimura here.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jobs. As Jobs tries to get set, Savage tries to push him back and clinch up but Jobs manages to avoid the attempt. John Jobs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Savage shoots in for a double leg but Jobs sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. An inside leg kick from Savage misses. Jobs darts in and clinches Savage up against the cage. Jobs is trying to pull guard but Savage turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Jobs decides to pull guard. Jobs working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Savage doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Jobs is tightening it up a little... Savage has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Savage reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Savage taps out! Nice BJJ there by Jobs!
