Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Derek Force (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Micko Karttunen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Force's entrance music is On The Eve Of War. A fine choice. Karttunen has chosen Go to sleep as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Derek Force! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Micko Karttunen! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Hirohito Nitta and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Force avoids the head kick by Karttunen.
Karttunen closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Karttunen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Karttunen tries to bum rush Force with a series of wild strikes but Force uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Karttunen lands a nice hook to Force's body. Force takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Karttunen fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Nice sprawl there from Force as Karttunen shoots in. Karttunen throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Karttunen tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Force throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Karttunen's waist but Karttunen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Force off to one side. Karttunen lands a jab to Force's midsection. Force avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Force could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Karttunen dips to his left and cracks Force with an uppercut! Force tries for a takedown but Karttunen sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Karttunen wants to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Force shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Karttunen counters with a nice body shot. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Derek Force. That's going to take a lot out of him. Force is breathing heavily. Karttunen swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Karttunen has his takedown stuffed and Force counters with a takedown into side control. Karttunen is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Karttunen is trying to control Force's posture but Force avoids it. Karttunen is trying to get back to half guard. Karttunen is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Force has just dragged him back down to the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Check out the look on Force's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Karttunen struggling a bit here. Force wants to control but Karttunen is keeping him busy.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Karttunen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Force as he jumps to the side. Karttunen tries to clinch up but Force circles away and keeps his distance. Karttunen misses with a body shot
and Force counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Karttunen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Force. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. This has been an exciting period of action! Force stops Karttunen from getting back to his feet.
Karttunen is looking for a sweep. Force is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Force is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Karttunen doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Force. Force uses his free foot to push down on Karttunen's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Karttunen.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Force is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Karttunen has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Karttunen! Karttunen controlling from the top position. Karttunen stopping the sweep attempt from Force. Force is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Force looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Force trying to keep a closed guard but Karttunen is proving a slippery customer.
Karttunen postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Force wants to sweep here but Karttunen controlling him for the moment. Karttunen stands up from Force's guard - Karttunen perhaps looking for a knockout. Karttunen tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Force counters with a shoot takedown. Karttunen fights it but they end up in guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Karttunen tries to land a sweep but no joy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Derek Force will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Force chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Karttunen can pounce on him.

Karttunen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Karttunen misses with a takedown and Force counters with a single leg into guard. Karttunen didn't expect that. Karttunen is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Force won't allow Karttunen to sweep him here. Force passes easily into side control. Nice work. Force landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Karttunen is trying to get back to half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Karttunen struggling a bit here.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Karttunen is pushing Force's head away, looking to escape. Force manages to hold on to the position though. Force thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Force is looking to take a break and control but Karttunen is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Force is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Karttunen knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Karttunen wants to control but Force postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Karttunen wants to get back to his feet. Force looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Karttunen sneaks out the side door and pushes Force away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Karttunen closes the distance looking to clinch and Force counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Force working over Karttunen with some ground and pound. Karttunen looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Karttunen regains full guard. Nicely done. Derek Force overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Force thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Force gets to his feet. Karttunen looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Karttunen connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Force fails with a takedown attempt from distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Derek Force. That's going to take a lot out of him. Karttunen moves into the clinch successfully.
Karttunen tries to score a body lock takedown but Force shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Karttunen is fighting off a takedown attempt but Force is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Karttunen to the mat. Karttunen regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Karttunen keeping moving, preventing Force from controlling successfully. Force works over Karttunen with some ground and pound from guard. Karttunen has his foot on Force's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Force works his way back into a safe position though. Force lands a couple of decent looking shots. Force trying to control but Karttunen is working from the bottom. Force drops back looking for a leg! Karttunen is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Karttunen manages to kick Force off! Force jumps back into Karttunen's guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Force feints and as Karttunen raises his hands in defense, Force changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Karttunen is looking for a triangle but Force pushes his legs off easily.
Force drops back looking for a leg! Karttunen is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Karttunen manages to kick Force off! Force jumps back into Karttunen's guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Force gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Derek Force dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Karttunen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Karttunen is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Force wants to control from the top but Karttunen keeps moving. Force seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Force with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Karttunen is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Force controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Force lands a couple of elbows.
That's one minute gone in the round. Force trying to control but Karttunen is working from the bottom. Force pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Karttunen is keeping the position for now. Karttunen looking to control.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Force is working Karttunen over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Force looking to sit in guard and control but Karttunen gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Karttunen avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Force lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Karttunen!

Force has hold of Karttunen's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Karttunen manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Force is going olschool here, as he tries to force Karttunen to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Karttunen shrugs it off.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Karttunen is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Karttunen is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Force is staying active. Karttunen can't escape the position.
Force pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
Karttunen is bucking up trying to escape but Force cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Derek Force is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Karttunen is working to get back to half guard.
Force landing shots from mount. Micko Karttunen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Force controlling the position easily from mount.
And that's the end of the fight! Derek Force showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Force, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
