Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Harry McQuirre (ranked 2250 p4p, 223 weight class) and Luis Vega (ranked 774 p4p, 94 weight class). Vega has chosen Truth - Atomic thunder as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Harry McQuirre has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Harry McQuirre! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Luis Vega! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Ren Mimura and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A big left from McQuirre misses. Vega gets in close and instigates a clinch. McQuirre lands a left hand.
Vega tried to land a shot to the body but connects with McQuirre's elbow. Vega blocks an uppercut.

McQuirre swings away with an uppercut that misses.
A short uppercut from Vega. Vega tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. A head punch on the inside from McQuirre fails to land. Vega lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Vega manages to pull guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Vega looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Vega pulls McQuirre in close to prevent any damage. Vega is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and McQuirre defends well. McQuirre knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Vega on the ground. Vega working for a triangle but McQuirre defends it easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Vega pulls McQuirre in close to his closed guard and prevents McQuirre from doing any damage or advancing position. Vega working for a triangle but McQuirre defends it easily.
Vega is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vega has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but McQuirre can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Vega working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because McQuirre has passed into half guard!

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Vega makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Vega. McQuirre throws a sloppy strike and Vega has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! McQuirre is forced to tap! Great BJJ from Vega!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Luis Vega! Luis Vega bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
