Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Tua (ranked 229 p4p, 5 weight class) and John Smith (ranked 334 p4p, 15 weight class). Smith has chosen Song 2 as his entrance music. David Tua has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith cracks the inside of Tua 's front leg.
Tua tries to clinch but Smith is having none of it.
Smith moves out of range of the body kick from Tua .
Tua swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Tua closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Smith working hard to break the clinch.
Tua 's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Tua changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Smith loads up on a big right hand but Tua slips the punch.
Tua scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Tua rushes Smith and presses him up against the cage.
Smith is trying to force a seperation but Tua has the dominant position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tua has a couple of punches blocked by Smith.
Smith can't break the clinch.
Tua fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Tua misses with a hook to the ribs.
Tua misses with a short punch on the inside.

Tua breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Smith misses with an uppercut
and Tua counters with a leg kick.
Smith throws a jab but it's blocked by Tua .
Tua takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Tua misses with a kick to the body
and Smith counters with a nice uppercut.
Tua buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Smith misses with a wild body shot.
Tua lands a jab to the head.
A slow jab from Smith misses its intended target.
Smith swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Smith misses with a body kick.
A slapping leg kick lands for Tua .
Tua throws a body punch but Smith moves out of range.
Smith throws out a counter right but Tua avoids it with no problem.
Tua lands a leg kick that knocks Smith off balance momentarily.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Tua uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Smith has time to react.
Smith ducks right into an uppercut from Tua .
Tua throws a wild body kick that Smith sees coming a mile off.
Smith connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Tua lands a nice hook to Smith's body. Smith takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Tua 's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Smith connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Tua scrambles back to his feet.
Smith cracks Tua with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Smith has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Tua to stand back up!
Tua is rocked!
Smith shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Oh Tua is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Smith waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Tua .
Tua seems to have got his legs back now.
Tua pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Smith now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Smith throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Tua sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Smith connects with a solid leg kick.
Tua misses with a wild body shot.
Tua delivers a nice body kick.
Tua fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Smith has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Smith throws a looping overhand right but Tua ducks down to avoid it.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tua fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Smith manages to avoid it.
Smith throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Tua sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Smith swings away with a body shot that misses
and Tua counters with a straight right hand.
The fighters circling - Smith throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Smith throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Smith throws a poor cross that misses
and Tua counters with a nice uppercut.
Tua lands the left hand.
Smith keeps the fight on the outside.
Tua is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.
Smith with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Tua to score with a decent uppercut.
Smith cracks Tua with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Smith has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Tua to stand back up!
It looks like David Tua has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Smith throws a jab but it's blocked by Tua .
Smith takes a swing at Tua 's ribcage but misses.
Tua is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Smith rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Tua counters with a lovely straight right hand!
A decent looking body kick lands there for Tua .
Smith takes one to the chin there.
Nice defenses there by Smith.
Smith misses with a hook
and Tua counters with a crisp right hand that drops Smith! Tua lets Smith back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Smith is rocked!
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Tua fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Smith is still on wobbly legs! Can Tua finish him?
Tua throws a monster overhand right that drops Smith! Tua follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). David Tua !
During a confident post fight interview, David Tua thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
