The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lawal tries to clinch but Plumberg is having none of it. Plumberg shoots in for a takedown but Lawal shows good takedown defense. The fight stays on the outside here - Lawal looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Plumberg lands a high kick!
Lawal throws out a loose jab but Plumberg uses good head movement to avoid it. Lawal with a body punch. A glancing blow. Plumberg has Lawal up against the cage in a clinch.
Plumberg pulls guard successfully.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Plumberg looking for a sweep. Not yet Plumberg, not yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Plumberg is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Plumberg is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Lawal really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Plumberg. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Plumberg scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Plumberg looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Lawal gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Lawal wants to break the clinch but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Plumberg wants to get back to striking at distance but Lawal won't allow it.
Lawal's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Lawal lands with a nice combination. Plumberg backs away looking to recover. Lawal looks to land a body kick but Plumberg moved away. Plumberg shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lawal as he avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Greg Plumberg. That's going to take a lot out of him. Plumberg is breathing heavily. Lawal looks to clinch and Plumberg counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Lawal's guard now. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Plumberg trying to control the position from guard on top but Lawal is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Lawal looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Plumberg puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Lawal tries to roll over but Plumberg keeps him under control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Plumberg prevents Lawal from standing back up.
Plumberg is thwarting Lawal's attempts to control the position. Lawal tries to roll over but Plumberg keeps him under control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Plumberg sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Lawal defending well though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Plumberg misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Lawal scores with a shot to the body.
BOOM! Lawal lands a beautiful left hook that drops Plumberg. Plumberg tries to recover but Lawal is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Plumberg lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Reeves Lawal!
