Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Greg Peterson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kobayashi Jin! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jin tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Peterson was well out of range. Poor timing from Jin. Jin scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Some bone on bone action there as Jin checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Peterson misses with a head kick.
Jin tests Peterson's chin there with a solid looking shot. Jin punishes Peterson's body with a nice straight punch. Peterson gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Jin thuds a left hand into Peterson's body. Jin tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Peterson was well out of range. Poor timing from Jin. Jin scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Jin looks to land a right hand but Peterson moved out of range. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Peterson takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Jin cracks Peterson with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Peterson takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Peterson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Peterson pushes Jin away with a front kick. Jin punishes Peterson's body with a nice straight punch. Jin fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Peterson manages to avoid it. Peterson is looking to counter the offense by Jin and move into the clinch. Peterson misses with a two punch combination.

Peterson feinted with a counter takedown. Jin ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Jin throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Jin scores with a jab to the body. Jin catches Peterson with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Jin sizes up Peterson with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Greg Peterson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Peterson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Jin throws a right hand that Peterson ducks under and follows up with a left that Peterson also avoids with ease. Jin with a hook. Jin looks to score with a jab to the body but Peterson is just out of range. Kobayashi Jin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Peterson avoids the body shot from Jin.

Jin is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Jin lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Jin swings for the body but Peterson moves out of range.
Peterson tries to counter with a takedown but Jin is quick to defend against it. Peterson ducks right into an uppercut from Jin. Peterson throws a nice looking combination but Jin bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Jin avoids a punch combination nicely.

Peterson throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Jin fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Peterson looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. A looping hook to the body misses from Jin. Peterson does a little dance to reset his feet. Jin fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Peterson on the side of the head. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Peterson throws a front kick aimed at Jin's knee but Jin avoids it well. Peterson will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Peterson misses with a low kick. And Jin tries to counter it with a takedown but Peterson pushes his down on his head and steps out. Jin lands a jab to Peterson's midsection. Peterson misses with a wild combination.
Jin throws a body punch but Peterson moves out of range. Peterson moves forwards but Jin connects with a nice, crisp jab. Jin throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Jin fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Peterson throws a right and a left that both miss. Peterson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jin just misses with a punch to the body.
The crowd cheers as Jin lands an impressive looking overhand right. Peterson doesn't seem phased though. Jin listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Jin paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kobayashi Jin dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Kobayashi Jin seems to be getting the better of the standup. Peterson throws a chopping leg kick but Jin manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Nice uppercut lands for Jin. That snapped Peterson's head back.

This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Peterson might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far. Jin checks a low kick from Peterson. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Peterson walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Peterson fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Jin has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. A left lands for Jin. Nice body punch from Jin.

Peterson wants to slow Jin down by chopping away at his legs. Peterson takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Peterson walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Jin checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Peterson fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Jin is out of range. The fight stays on the outside here - Jin looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Peterson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Jin.
Jin misses the shot to the body. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Peterson takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Jin takes one to the chin there.

Peterson shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Jin stuns Peterson with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Kobayashi Jin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Will he be able to recover?!! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The fighters circle momentarily. Jin darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Peterson misses with a low kick as Jin jumps back. Jin connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Peterson will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
