Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Leroy Perez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Capt Sully! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Valeri Chadov and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sully throws a combination that misses and Sully takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Sully takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
It looks like Capt Sully has been cut. Capt Sully seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Perez lands a jab. Sully throws a combination that misses and Perez counters with a stiff right hand. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Sully throws a series of punches but Perez avoids them all with ease. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sully throws a right hand that misses
and Perez counters with a nice uppercut. Sully misses with a few strikes there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Perez uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sully.
Sully thuds a left hand into Perez's body. Sully uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Perez. Sully swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. A lazy left from Sully finds it's target. Perez looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Sully slips under a jab. Sully has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Perez misses with a wild combination.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sully misses with a looping left. Sully moves away from the strike by Perez. Sully cracks Perez with a good jab. Sully lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Perez at a distance.
Perez bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Sully's head. Sully swings for the body but Perez moves out of range.
Perez is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sully throws a hook but Perez avoids it easily. Perez was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Sloppy strikes from Sully. Those never looked like landing. Perez is looking for a counter combo. Perez lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Sully misses with a body punch
and Perez counters with a straight right hand. Sully displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Perez throws out the jab. Sully appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. Sully uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Perez. Perez slips under a jab from Sully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Perez uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sully.
Perez swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Perez misses with a hook to the body
and Sully counters with a left and a right that stings Perez. Perez looks to throw the jab but Sully is out of range. Sully looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Perez uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Sully. Perez was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Sully feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Perezs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Sully lands with an uppercut that bounces Perez off the cage and back into range. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Capt Sully will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Capt Sully's cut. That's time! Back to the action!
Perez throws a lazy right hand but Sully sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Sully looks like he wants to counter punch here. Sully lands with a straight right. Perez didn't see that one coming. Sully throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Perez counters with a stiff right hand. Perez walks into a left hand.
Perez is rocked! Sully throws a right and a left that both miss. Perez appears to be looking for a big counter. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sully misses with an uppercut
and Perez counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Sully thinking. Sully tests Perez's chin there with a solid looking shot. Oh Perez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's one minute gone in the round. Some wild striking there from Sully.
Perez swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Perez seems to have got his legs back now. Sully lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Perez can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Sully and Perez drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Sully.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Capt Sully!
