Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bill Blatt (ranked 3743 p4p, 0 weight class) and Suzuki Sakurai (ranked 6403 p4p, 0 weight class). Suzuki Sakurai has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Steve Smith and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sakurai swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Blatt holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Blatt jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Sakurai walks away with a smile on his face. Blatt gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Blatt wants to clinch up but Sakurai keeps it at a distance.
Sakurai tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Blatt paws at him with a jab and circles away.
A punch combination from Sakurai misses.

Blatt feinted with a counter takedown.
Blatt on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Sakurai. Sakurai obviously looking to wear him down.
Sakurai tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Blatt wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Sakurai keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Blatt shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sakurai sprawls well. Sakurai wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Blatt gets slowly back to his feet.
Sakurai looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bill Blatt. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Blatt wants to clinch
and Sakurai counters with a left and a right that stings Blatt.

Sloppy strikes from Sakurai. Those never looked like landing.
Sakurai fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Blatt sprawls well initially but Sakurai persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Blatt is trying to stand back up but Sakurai is controlling him

Blatt has hold of Sakurai's hands but Sakurai slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Sakurai thows a huge punch but Blatt dodges it nicely.

Sakurai is looking for a kimura but Blatt is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Sakurai to get the leverage.
Blatt keeping hold of Sakurai's head, controlling as best he can.

Sakurai takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Sakurai thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Blatt's head.
Sakurai misses with a head shot. Blatt uses the momentum to regain guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Sakurai trying to control the position from guard on top but Blatt is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Sakurai gets a takedown into half guard.
Sakurai working over Blatt with some ground and pound. Blatt looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Sakurai postures up in Blatt's guard and throws a big left but Blatt blocks it.
Sakurai wants to stand but Blatt has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Sakurai is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Suzuki Sakurai dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Sakurai lands with a nice combination. Blatt backs away looking to recover.
Blatt closes the distance and clinches.
Sakurai wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Blatt tries to close the distance and clinch but Sakurai swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Blatt shoots in for a takedown but Sakurai shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Sakurai stands up over Blatt, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Sakurai postures up and lands a big shot to Blatt's brow.
Blatt is rocked!

Oh Blatt is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sakurai with a nice head shot there.
Sakurai loads up on a big left hand. Blatt felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Sakurai looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Blatt can't hide his disappointment, as Sakurai celebrates the victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Suzuki Sakurai!
