Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Barry McCockiner (ranked 21565 p4p, 144 weight class) and Baldur Torsten (ranked 5935 p4p, 122 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Barry McCockiner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Baldur Torsten! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Wesley Smith and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McCockiner gets the takedown into side control. Torsten throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Horrible takedown attempt by McCockiner or perhaps it was just good defense by Torsten, which made it look bad. McCockiner looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. McCockiner stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. McCockiner clinches up against the ropes. McCockiner is working on a single leg takedown against the ropes. Torsten can't fight it off and eventually McCockiner manages to take the fight to the floor. Torsten looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. McCockiner gets to his feet - Torsten follows without any prompting.
That's one minute gone in the round. McCockiner shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Torsten napping and manages to drive through into side control! Torsten is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. McCockiner decides to stand up, so the ref orders Torsten to his feet. McCockiner closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Torsten's guard. Torsten controls McCockiner momentarily but McCockiner frees himself. McCockiner gets to his feet - Torsten follows without any prompting. McCockiner shoots in and gets a takedown into Torsten's guard.

McCockiner dives in for a single leg takedown but Torsten sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the ropes. And Torsten responds with a good body kick, but McCockiner manages to step out the way in time. McCockiner changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Torsten tries to avoid it but McCockiner manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Torsten to the ground. Torsten escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Barry McCockiner. That's going to take a lot out of him. McCockiner shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. McCockiner showed some decent athleticism there. Torsten trying to hold on to McCockiner's head to control him but McCockiner postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. McCockiner stands up and beckons Torsten to join him on the feet. McCockiner moves into the clinch. McCockiner keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Torsten's efforts to push away. McCockiner gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Torsten regains guard.
McCockiner stands up from guard. Let's bang! No luck for McCockiner with that takedown attempt. McCockiner sets himself, and Torsten steps forward looking for the clinch! McCockiner avoids it this time. Torsten slaps away a takedown attempt from McCockiner, before circling back to the center of the mat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Barry McCockiner will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

McCockiner decides to take the fight back to the feet. McCockiner fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Torsten let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. No luck for McCockiner with that takedown attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McCockiner closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - McCockiner lands in his opponent's guard. Torsten tries to land a sweep but no joy. Barry McCockiner overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

McCockiner gets to his feet - Torsten follows without any prompting. McCockiner closes the distance and clinches. McCockiner prevents a body shot from Torsten. McCockiner wants the takedown. Torsten is fighting it off but McCockiner persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Torsten's guard against the ropes. McCockiner decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Torsten, up you get! McCockiner fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Torsten to the ground. McCockiner is now in Torsten's guard. Torsten wants to sweep but no luck. McCockiner stands up and waves to Torsten to follow him. McCockiner feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Torsten did well to prevent McCockiner getting side control. McCockiner decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Torsten manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Torsten is clearly trying to counter these attacks from McCockiner with a body shot. McCockiner is trying hard to land a takedown here. Torsten sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Torsten follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land. A momentary lapse in concentration from Torsten enables McCockiner to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Torsten manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. McCockiner decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. McCockiner darts in looking for a takedown but Torsten gets double underhooks and turns McCockiner into the ropes. McCockiner shoots for a double leg takedown but Torsten sprawls well. He's pushed McCockiner's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Torsten only half commits to the counter leg kick. McCockiner moves into the clinch. McCockiner has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Torsten after a bit of a struggle. Torsten can't find room to land a body shot as McCockiner controls the action.

McCockiner shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Torsten's guard.

He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Torsten's half guard. McCockiner decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. McCockiner closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Torsten quickly recovers to half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. McCockiner blocks the strikes from Torsten.
Torsten wants to control but McCockiner is keeping busy.
Torsten is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but McCockiner pulls his head out easily.
And that's the end of the fight! Barry McCockiner showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for McCockiner, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
