Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Phol Boxaaja (ranked 175 p4p, 25 weight class) and CJ Johnson (ranked 1785 p4p, 222 weight class). Johnson is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Relentless - Slayer. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

13 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Phol Boxaaja! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, CJ Johnson! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Ackerman and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice defenses there by Boxaaja. Johnson with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Boxaaja to score with a decent uppercut. Boxaaja takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Johnson throws out a powerful jab. Johnson throws a body punch but Boxaaja moves out of range. Johnson misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Boxaaja.

Johnson takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Johnson moves out of range as Boxaaja strikes. Johnson let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Johnson darts in and out, connecting with a jab. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Boxaaja looks to score with a jab to the body but Johnson is just out of range. Boxaaja changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Johnson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Boxaaja is looking to take a break and control but Johnson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Boxaaja goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Johnson rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Boxaaja's guard! Nice work there by Johnson!
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Boxaaja throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Johnson escapes and throws Boxaaja's legs to the side, diving into side control! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Boxaaja is looking to regain half guard here but Johnson keeps moving and retains side control. Boxaaja can't do much from the bottom here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Johnson controls the position. Boxaaja has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Boxaaja is working hard here to advance position. Johnson decides to stand back up. Johnson throws a jab but it's blocked by Boxaaja. Boxaaja went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Johnson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Boxaaja. Boxaaja ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. CJ Johnson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Some wild striking there from Boxaaja.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Johnson throws a sloppy body shot
and Johnson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Nice uppercut lands for Johnson. That snapped Boxaaja's head back.
Johnson throws a body shot but no joy. Boxaaja scores with a nice head shot. A slow jab from Johnson misses its intended target. Boxaaja has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Johnson misses with a body shot.

Boxaaja is looking to counter the offense by Johnson and move into the clinch. Johnson takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
A jab from Johnson finds it's way through Boxaaja's defenses. Johnson throws a sloppy head kick and Boxaaja counters with a nice body shot. Johnson lands a head shot. Johnson swings away with a body shot that misses
enabling Boxaaja to counter with a crisp jab. Boxaaja shoots in and drives through. Johnson sprawls well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
CJ Johnson dominated that round. That's time! Boxaaja's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Boxaaja digs a good body shot into Johnson's ribs. Boxaaja showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Johnson.

Johnson connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Boxaaja's hands. The fighters circle momentarily. Johnson darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Johnson misses with a left hand and Boxaaja counters with a left to the body. A jab from Johnson misses. Boxaaja slips a jab from Johnson. A good leg kick by Johnson. Johnson has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Johnson moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Johnson lunges at Boxaaja with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Boxaaja's hand. Boxaaja cracks Johnson with an open hand slap. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Boxaaja lands with a right hand. Johnson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Boxaaja moves away. Johnson rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Boxaaja counters with a nice uppercut.
Johnson is rocked! Boxaaja cracks Johnson with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Johnson falls to his knees and Boxaaja doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Phol Boxaaja! Phol Boxaaja retains his middleweight title!
