Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Carmen Hines!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rocky Bear!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Yves DeLean and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bear gets a takedown into half guard.
Bear takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Bear missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Bear keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Bear's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Hines really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Bear tries to pass to full mount but Hines defends it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bear slows the pace down in half guard.

Bear stands up from half guard.

Bear closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hines did well to prevent Bear getting side control.

Hines has one foot on Bear's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Hines tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Bear manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Hines throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Nice takedown defense from Hines. No joy for Bear on that attempt.

Bear closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Hines's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bear wants to control from the top but Hines keeps moving.

Hines is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Bear is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Hines is trying to pull guard but Bear has him pressed against the cage.

Bear jumps guard and drags Hines to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Bear wants to stand but Hines is controlling the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hines trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Hines gets to his feet - Bear follows without any prompting.
Hines scores with a jab.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

and Bear holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Bear fails to pull guard.

Hines manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Hines controls Bear momentarily but Bear frees himself.
Rocky Bear has got the better of the ground game so far.
Bear slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Bear gets to his feet - Hines follows without any prompting.

Bear manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hines on his heels. He'll look to pass Hines's guard now, I'm sure.
Hines is wriggling around but Bear manages to pass to half guard.

Bear seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Bear is nestled in close to Hines, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Hines missing with punches from the bottom.
Bear content to control rather than advance.
Bear throwing shots but Hines is blocking nicely.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Bear has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Bear stands up out of the half guard.
Bear shoots in for a double leg but Hines sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Bear clinches with his opponent.
Hines is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Bear is defending well for now.
Hines jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Bear walks away with a smile on his face. Hines gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Bear shoots in looking for a takedown but Hines manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bear's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Carmen Hines has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rocky Bear.
Hines stuffs the takedown.
Bear is breathing heavily.

Bear gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Hines drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Bear gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Hines looks to throw an elbow but misses.

Hines has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Bear uses from the top position.
Bear is pushing down on Hines's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hines is fighting to maintain full guard but Bear has managed to sneak the leg through.

Hines wants to get back to his feet.
Bear works his way into side control.
The referee asks Bear politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Bear prefers to stall for the moment though.

Bear is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hines knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Bear wants to control but Hines is keeping him busy.

Rocky Bear showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Hines's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Hines tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Bear manages to move to mount!

Hines is trying to stand.
Bear tries to control but Hines wriggling away.
Bear lands a big shot there that rocks Hines but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bear with shots to the head and body - Hines looks very uncomfortable down there.
Bear can't control as he wanted to and Hines manages to get the fight back to his half guard.
Hines is looking to improve his position.

Bear decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Bear gets the takedown into side control.
Bear is looking to take a break and control but Hines is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Bear is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Hines will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Bear stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Bear wants the takedown. Hines is fighting it off but Bear persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Hines's guard against the cage.
Bear is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

And that's the end of the fight!
Rocky Bear comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Bear winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
