Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Norman Mccoy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Anti Happy! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Taro Takaoka and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Happy throws a low kick but Mccoy moves out of range easily. Mccoy appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. A big right from Happy misses. Happy gets caught napping as Mccoy dives in and scores a takedown. Happy manages to retain guard. Happy pulls Mccoy in to control the position. Mccoy in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Mccoy has gone for a leg lock! Happy slips out almost immediately though and dives into Mccoy's guard. Happy has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Mccoy is proving hard to escape from. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Happy is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mccoy looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Happy is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Happy missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Happy looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Happy decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Mccoy gets caught napping as Happy dives in and scores a takedown. Mccoy manages to retain guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Happy sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Mccoy's guard. Happy with the ground and pound but Mccoy uses the opportunity to regain guard. Mccoy keeping moving, preventing Happy from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Happy pushes down on Mccoy's leg and manages to get into half guard. Mccoy really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Mccoy wants to control but Happy is keeping busy and won't allow it. Happy in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Mccoy tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Happy!
