Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Judson Franks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jackson Chan!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Taro Takaoka and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chan tries to close the distance and clinch but Franks swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

and Franks counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Franks decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Chan, up you get!
Franks really is a fat lump.

Franks instigates a clinch.

Franks turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Chan tries to buck Franks off but Franks is having none of it.
Chan looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
You can see the frustration on Chan's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Chan looks winded!
Franks scores with punches from side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Franks thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Franks working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Franks wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Chan, who protects the arm well.
Chan is looking to reverse the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Franks has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Chan wants to clinch up but Franks keeps it at a distance.
Franks is looking to counter the offense by Chan and move into the clinch.

Chan drives through with a takedown into guard.

Franks is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Franks has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Chan regains guard immediately.

Chan manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Franks drags the fight down to the ground.
Franks wants to sweep but no luck.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Franks lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Franks throwing strikes but missing.
Chan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Franks. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Chan utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Franks postures up.
Chan striking off his back but it's not causing Franks any problems.
Franks lands a couple of elbows.
Chan tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Franks landing with the ground and pound.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Franks decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Chan darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Franks kicks off Chan and gets to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Chan fails with an attempt to clinch.

Chan clinches with his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Judson Franks dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Franks shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Chan manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Chan scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Franks gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Chan looking to sit in guard and control but Franks gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Chan is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Chan is trying to control the position but Franks postures up.

Franks stands up from guard. Let's bang!

That's one minute gone in the round.

Franks feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Chan wants to get back to his feet but Franks passes into half guard.

Nice strikes from Franks there.

Franks maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Chan could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Franks has cracked it and Chan is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Franks!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Judson Franks!
