Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Curtis Jackson (ranked 6566 p4p, 228 weight class) and Mark Callus (ranked 7076 p4p, 235 weight class). Mark Callus is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Curtis Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Callus!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Patrick Alders and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Callus clinches.
Callus has Jackson pressed against the cage, preventing Jackson from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Jackson has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Callus after a bit of a struggle.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Callus.
Jackson is trying to push Callus away but Callus has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Callus is pushing Jackson up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Callus jumps guard.

Jackson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Callus has taken the fight to the clinch.
Jackson wants to break the clinch but can't.
Jackson is trying to break the clinch but Callus has him pressed against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Callus drags the fight down to the ground.

Callus uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Jackson shoots in looking for a takedown but Callus manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jackson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Callus using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Jackson has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Callus manages to break the clinch.
Jackson throws a right and a left that Callus avoids nicely.
Mark Callus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Callus uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jackson.
Nice takedown defense from Jackson. No joy for Callus on that attempt.
Jackson is looking to clinch but Callus is avoiding it.

Jackson moves into the clinch successfully.

Callus lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Jackson.
Jackson is breathing heavily.

Callus pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jackson takes one on the button.
Jackson looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Jackson shoots for a double leg takedown but Callus sprawls well. He's pushed Jackson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Curtis Jackson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Callus closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jackson circles away.
Jackson was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Callus stuffs the takedown attempt from Jackson. Jackson gets slowly back to his feet.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Callus escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Callus digs a right hand underneath Jackson's ribcage. Jackson let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Callus tries a body shot but Jackson blocks it.
Callus struggles to land a body shot inside as Jackson controls his hands.
Jackson is trying to break the clinch but Callus has him pressed against the cage.
Callus jumps guard but Jackson stands there with Callus around his waist. Callus gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Callus breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Jackson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Callus circles away quickly and effectively.
Jackson misses with a wild combination.
Jackson misses with a two punch combination.
Callus was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.

Callus moves into the clinch.

Callus breaks from the clinch.

Callus instigates a clinch.

Callus pulls Jackson into guard.
Callus has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Callus manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Callus pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jackson shoots in and drives through. Callus sprawls well.

Callus moves into the clinch.
Callus jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jackson walks away with a smile on his face. Callus gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Curtis Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Callus.
Callus shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jackson as he avoids it easily.
Jackson tries to clinch there but Callus circles away.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Callus showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Callus putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Jackson in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.

Callus wants to get back to his feet but Jackson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Jackson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Callus has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Jackson off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well Callus has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
