Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Teodoto Nocerino!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kevyt Kaikkonen!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nocerino feints and as Kaikkonen raises his hands in defense, Nocerino changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Nocerino got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kaikkonen has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Nocerino has managed to get both his arms back between Kaikkonen's legs - danger averted.
Kaikkonen keeping moving, preventing Nocerino from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kaikkonen had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Nocerino defends it easily.

Kaikkonen is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Nocerino defends well.
Nocerino advances to half guard.
Nocerino is looking to advance position but Kaikkonen won't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Nocerino seems to be working for a kimura but Kaikkonen defends the submission attempt.
Nocerino is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Nocerino is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Kaikkonen to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Kaikkonen shrugs it off.

Kaikkonen is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Kaikkonen is still trying to improve position.
Nocerino is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Kaikkonen is in real trouble.
Kaikkonen trying to control the hands but Nocerino breaks the grip.

Kaikkonen is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Nocerino gets his way!

Nocerino is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
I really don't envy Kaikkonen right now.
Kaikkonen turns into Nocerino and is now in his guard.
Nocerino controls Kaikkonen momentarily but Kaikkonen frees himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kaikkonen postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Nocerino is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kaikkonen, into his guard.


Kaikkonen is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Kaikkonen looks winded!

Kaikkonen is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Nocerino avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Kaikkonen working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Nocerino doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Nocerino manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Kaikkonen is looking to improve his position.

Kaikkonen fails with the takedown.
As Kaikkonen tries to get set, Nocerino tries to push him back and clinch up but Kaikkonen manages to avoid the attempt.

Nocerino shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Nocerino was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Nocerino wants to control but Kaikkonen is keeping him busy.
Teodoto Nocerino overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Nocerino is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kaikkonen can do to turn this around?

Nocerino is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kaikkonen has escaped the position, nice work there.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Kaikkonen manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Kaikkonen is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Nocerino still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Nocerino has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Nocerino tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Nocerino has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Oh but Kaikkonen is tightening it up a little... Nocerino has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Nocerino reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Nocerino taps out! Nice BJJ there by Kaikkonen!
