The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mayers fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Gorgrip tries for a takedown but Mayers circles away easily
and Mayers counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Gorgrip looks for a takedown but Mayers sprawls well.

Mayers throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Despite the aggression on Gorgrip's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Mayers lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Gorgrip has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Gorgrip and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Mayers bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Gorgrip! He dives into his guard looking to finish!

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Mayers's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Mayers gets to his feet and stands over Gorgrip, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Gorgrip felt that one! Mayers unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Gorgrip from any more punishment!
