And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chan Siam!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mayvers stuffs the takedown.
Mayvers rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Siam counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Siam throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mayvers's waist but Mayvers gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Siam off to one side.

Mayvers instigates a clinch.
Mayvers wants a takedown.
Mayvers looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Mayvers doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Siam has clasped his hands together around Mayvers's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Siam looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Siam tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Siam has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Mayvers tries to improve position but can't.

Siam is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mayvers knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Mayvers sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Mayvers slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Mayvers wants to sweep here but Siam controlling him for the moment.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Siam avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Mayvers is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Mayvers isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Siam stacks Mayvers on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Siam!
Siam is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Mayvers will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Mayvers is trying to control Siam's posture but Siam avoids it.
Mayvers is looking for a sweep.

Mayvers trying his best to control but Siam has mounted him.
Siam tries to control but Mayvers wriggling away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Siam is trying to control the action in half guard but Mayvers is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Siam looks for a takedown but Mayvers sprawls well.
Mayvers keeps the fight on the outside.
Siam misses with a wild combination.
Siam throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mayvers.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Siam enables Mayvers to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Siam manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Siam is looking to stand back up but Mayvers counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Siam.

Lee Mayvers overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Mayvers tries to control but Siam wriggling away.

Siam is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Mayvers lands a couple of good shots and Siam has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

A bit of a pause in the action here. Mayvers controlling the positon.
Siam is trapped and Mayvers is scoring with shots to the head and body.

Siam staying busy and making it hard for Mayvers to control.

Mayvers looking to break Siam's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Siam remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Mayvers will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Mayvers punches the canvas rather than the man.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Oooh a big shot gets through from Mayvers. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!

Siam is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Siam breaks Mayvers's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Mayvers swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Siam counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Siam tries to clinch up but Mayvers circles away and keeps his distance.
Siam closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mayvers circles away.
Siam misses with a few strikes there.
Mayvers throws out a loose jab but Siam uses good head movement to avoid it.
Mayvers checks a low kick from Siam.
Mayvers swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Siam wants to control but Mayvers is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Mayvers is stalling here. Siam is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Mayvers seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Siam has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Siam wants to control but Mayvers is keeping him busy.
You can see the frustration on Mayvers's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Mayvers is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Mayvers makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Mayvers.
Lee Mayvers is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Siam wants to control from the top but Mayvers keeps moving.
Siam works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Mayvers wants to get back to full guard.
Mayvers is not content to let Siam control the position.

Mayvers is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Siam jumps into side control!
Mayvers is looking to reverse the position.

Siam working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Siam decides to stand back up.
Mayvers throws a hook but Siam avoids it easily.
Siam blocks a jab.
Siam wants to clinch

and Mayvers counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Mayvers wants to work for an arm triangle but Siam is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The fighters are battling for position here. Siam manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Siam bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mayvers's guard.

Siam tries to free his leg and advance position but Mayvers is retaining full guard.

Chan Siam comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Siam has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
