With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Lewis Stevens !
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Donald Grub and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice uppercut lands for De La Werido . That snapped Stevens 's head back.
De La Werido connects with a body shot.
A left and a right from Stevens both land. Nice combination.
De La Werido fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Stevens misses with the combination.
De La Werido appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.

De La Werido closes the distance and clinches.

Stevens turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Stevens decides to stand back up. Stevens steps back and let's De La Werido get back to his feet.

De La Werido is trying to maintain a safe position but Stevens gets an underhook and turns De La Werido into the cage.

Stevens breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

De La Werido tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Stevens smiles and moves away.

De La Werido closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Stevens pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Lewis Stevens seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Stevens is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in De La Werido 's half guard.
De La Werido pushes Stevens off looking to stand but Stevens dives back in and keeps control.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

De La Werido tries to pull guard but Stevens holds him up against the cage and eventually De La Werido drops back down to his feet.

De La Werido is working an open guard so Stevens takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Stevens swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

De La Werido closes the distance and clinches.

De La Werido shoots in for a double leg but Stevens sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

De La Werido wants to pass the guard but Stevens is keeping the position.

De La Werido got a little sloppy there for a moment and Stevens has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, De La Werido has managed to get both his arms back between Stevens 's legs - danger averted.

Stevens had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. De La Werido defends it easily.

Stevens working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. De La Werido doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. De La Werido manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Stevens looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! De La Werido has picked Stevens up and slammed him! Stevens can't keep hold of the triangle and De La Werido manages to pass to side control!

Lewis Stevens showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Stevens isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. De La Werido stacks Stevens on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by De La Werido !

Stevens escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. De La Werido gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Well Stevens has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
