PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Caniel Dormier (ranked 5093 p4p, 340 weight class) and Glass Joe (ranked 514 p4p, 61 weight class). Joe comes into a darkened arena with his song building. La Marseillaise kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Glass Joe!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joe getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Joe scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Joe scores with a crisp jab that stopped Dormier in his tracks.
Joe throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Joe, as that shot connected.
Joe scores with a hook to the body. Dormier takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Dormier takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Joe lands with a hook. Dormier tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Joe throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Dormier stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Joe listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.

Joe throws a series of strikes that have Dormier backpedaling.
Joe scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Joe digs a good hook to Dormier's body.

Joe thuds a left hand into Dormier's body.
Joe lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Dormier backs up against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Joe wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Dormier is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Joe feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Dormiers jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Left hook, right uppercut from Joe.
Joe lands a slapping body shot.
Dormier with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Joe to score with a decent uppercut.

Dormier takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Joe cracks Dormier with an open hand slap.
Joe with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Joe scores with a body shot.
Joe sizes up Dormier with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Joe lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Joe lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Joe.


Dormier is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Joe throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

A punch lands to the side of Dormier 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Joe fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Dormier takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Joe cracks Dormier with a good jab.
Joe sizes up Dormier with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Dormier gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Joe lands a body shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Glass Joe dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Joe ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Glass Joe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Joe digs a good body shot into Dormier's ribs.
Donk. Joe catches Dormier right on the button with a cross.
Joe cracks Dormier with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Joe lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Dormier shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dormier takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Glass Joe seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Joe jabs Dormier right on the nose. Dormier blinks but takes it well.
Joe misses with a double jab.

Decent striking displayed by Joe there.
Joe cracks Dormier with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Dormier takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Oh Dormier is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Joe scores with a shot to the body.
Dormier seems to have got his legs back now.
Joe throws a right hand that Dormier ducks under and follows up with a left that Dormier also avoids with ease.
Joe lands with a cross.
Joe has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Joe lands an overhand right.
Joe scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Joe tests Dormier's chin there with a solid looking shot.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Joe bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Joe lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Joe tests Dormier's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Joe cracks Dormier with a right hand to the side of the head.

Joe drops Dormier with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Dormier looks back up at him and smiles so Joe waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Dormier might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.
Joe bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Dormier's head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
BOOM! Joe lands a beautiful left hook that drops Dormier. Dormier tries to recover but Joe is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Dormier lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:10 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Glass Joe!
