Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Allan Kurma! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Felix Krnacova! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Krnacova gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Kurma breaks from the clinch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Krnacova. Kurma thinks about countering with a head kick. Krnacova clinches with his opponent.
Kurma pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Krnacova shoots in looking for a takedown. Kurma tries to sprawl out of it but Krnacova keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kurma manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. It looked like Kurma wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Kurma stuffs the takedown. Kurma went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Allan Kurma has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Felix Krnacova. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Krnacova with a lazy takedown attempt and Kurma connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Krnacova tries for a takedown but Kurma circles away easily and Kurma counters with a lovely straight right hand! Kurma misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Krnacova shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kurma defends it nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Krnacova tries for a takedown but Kurma circles away easily and Kurma counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Krnacova is defended easily by Kurma. Krnacova has his takedown stuffed and Krnacova takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Krnacova dives in for a single leg takedown but Kurma sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Krnacova throws a sloppy head kick and Kurma moves out of range easily. Krnacova gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Kurma counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Krnacova with a poor takedown enabling Kurma to counter with a crisp jab. Krnacova tries to clinch but Kurma moves out of range. Kurma lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Krnacova circles away quickly and effectively. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Krnacova is defended easily by Kurma. Krnacova gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Kurma cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Krnacova on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Krnacova shoots and misses and Kurma counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Krnacova looks winded! Krnacova is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kurma sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. A head kick by Kurma - that's a beauty! Krnacova is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Kurma can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!
