Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Takeshi Kovacs (ranked 997 p4p, 122 weight class) and Sergei Martynov (ranked 409 p4p, 57 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Takeshi Kovacs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sergei Martynov! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kovacs throws a body shot but no joy. Kovacs doesn't manage to clinch there - Martynov circles away.
Kovacs looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Kovacs moves forwards but Martynov connects with a nice, crisp jab. Kovacs tries to close the distance and clinch but Martynov swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Martynov missing with a left hand there. Kovacs was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Kovacs is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Oooooh!!! Martynov has knocked Kovacs down with a huge combo! Martynov steps away and waves a wobbly Kovacs back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
It looks like Takeshi Kovacs has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Martynov scores with a shot to the body.
Kovacs shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Martynov but Martynov pushes him off and we're back to square one. Martynov scores with a hook to the body. Kovacs takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Martynov lands with a good body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Martynov fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kovacs manages to avoid it. Martynov misses with an uppercut. Kovacs tries to counter with a takedown but Martynov is quick to defend against it. Martynov drops his hands momentarily and Kovacs takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Martynov looks to score with a jab to the body but Kovacs is just out of range. Kovacs slips under a jab. Kovacs was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Martynov misses the shot to the body. Kovacs changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Martynov throws a right hand that Kovacs ducks under and follows up with a left that Kovacs also avoids with ease. Kovacs moves into the clinch successfully.
Kovacs drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Martynov gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Martynov pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Kovacs has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Kovacs there as he acknowledges the shot. Sergei Martynov is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sloppy strikes from Martynov. Those never looked like landing. Martynov scores with the left hand. Kovacs knows he should have avoided that one. Jab, jab by Kovacs - just one landing. This has been an exciting period of action! Martynov swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Kovacs counters with a nice uppercut. Kovacs throws a lazy right hand but Martynov sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Kovacs showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Martynov.
Kovacs bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Martynov gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kovacs to score an easy takedown into full guard. Kovacs wants to control from the top but Martynov keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kovacs works a leg free and moves into half guard. Martynov looking for submissions off his back. Martynov with the active half guard here but Kovacs passes nicely into side control. Martynov is trying to get back to half guard. Kovacs wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Martynov, who protects the arm well. Martynov is being controlled here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kovacs moves into full mount! Martynov regains half guard. Kovacs is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Martynov has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Martynov is not content to let Kovacs control the position. Kovacs is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Martynov still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Martynov has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! Kovacs manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Kovacs is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sergei Martynov dominated that round. The cut man is working on Takeshi Kovacs's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.

He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Kovacs seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Martynov has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Martynov working away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kovacs tries to get back to half guard but can't. Kovacs tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Martynov presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Kovacs looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kovacs looking very determined here, making life difficult for Martynov.

Martynov is trying to stick to Kovacs's back but Kovacs is turning into Martynov. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Martynov's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Kovacs. Martynov is trying to control the position from the bottom.

He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Martynov on a fantastic submission victory.
