Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ezequiel Chandler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Thomas Franks!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Dillan Fox and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chandler tries to sprawl but Franks drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Franks thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Chandler's head.
Franks trying to control the pace.
Franks prevents Chandler from improving his position.
Franks is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Franks takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chandler really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Chandler really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Franks avoids the attempt from Chandler to control.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Franks cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Franks goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Chandler is on top in guard.
Franks controlling the position.
Chandler preventing the sweep.
Franks wants to stand up but Chandler is controlling him.

Franks wriggles free and stands up.

Franks shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Chandler napping and manages to drive through into side control!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Franks throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Chandler works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Franks looks to land a strike but Chandler avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Chandler is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Chandler avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Chandler wants to sweep but no luck.
Franks trying to control the position from guard on top but Chandler is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Franks is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Chandler pulls Franks in close to prevent any damage.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Franks tries to free his leg and advance position but Chandler is retaining full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Chandler pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Chandler tries to close the distance and clinch up but Franks swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Franks drives through with a takedown into Chandler's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Chandler is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Franks presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Chandler is breathing heavily.

Franks breaks from the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Franks misses with a few strikes there.
A head kick by Chandler misses

and Franks counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Franks is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Chandler pulls Franks in close to prevent any damage.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Franks's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Franks not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Thomas Franks dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Franks attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Chandler lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

Franks shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Chandler napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Franks wants to control but Chandler is keeping him busy.
Franks just content to control the position.
Chandler is trying to improve his position.

Franks decides to stand back up. Franks steps back and let's Chandler get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Some bone on bone action there as Franks checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Franks is looking to clinch.

Franks fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Chandler to the ground. Franks is now in Chandler's guard.
Chandler is looking to stand back up but Franks counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Chandler.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Chandler is looking to control Franks's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Chandler avoid being mounted?
Franks controlling the pace.
Franks is continuing to stall.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Franks trying to control from half guard but Chandler is working away.
Franks takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Chandler wants to control but Franks is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Franks tries to stand and escape but Chandler is controlling the position.
Franks is thwarting Chandler's attempts to control the position.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Franks moves into full mount! Chandler won't be happy about that!
Franks avoids the attempt from Chandler to control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Chandler defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Franks.
Chandler tries to hold on but Franks postures up.
Franks can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Chandler is looking to escape.
Franks with good strikes from the mount here!
Franks is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Chandler can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Chandler wants to hold on but Franks pushes him away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Franks controlling the position easily from mount.
Franks with shots to the head and body - Chandler looks very uncomfortable down there.


Chandler is rocked!
A big strike lands for Franks! That's really hurt Chandler and he's turned his back - Franks keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Franks jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Thomas Franks!
