Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kiro Kirov (ranked 4182 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Huge (ranked 4890 p4p, 0 weight class). Tony Huge has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kiro Kirov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tony Huge!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Huge changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kirov looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Kirov can't do much from the bottom here.
Kirov trying his best to control but Huge has mounted him.

Kirov tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Kirov wants to hold on but Huge pushes him away.
Huge sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Huge cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Huge has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Huge takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Huge is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Kirov can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Huge prevents Kirov from getting the reversal.

Kirov is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at 3Band MMA ($800/week) that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Kirov throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Huge works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Huge. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Huge escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kirov gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Huge moves into the clinch successfully.
Kirov drops down looking for an ankle pick but Huge pulls his leg out and moves away.
Kirov closes this distance looking for a takedown but Huge circles away.
Huge defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kirov.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kiro Kirov. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Huge manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Kirov on his heels. He'll look to pass Kirov's guard now, I'm sure.

Huge is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Kirov working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Huge doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Huge manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Huge has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Huge makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Huge has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kirov is proving hard to escape from.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Huge controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Huge in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Huge keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Kirov's head.
Kirov looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Kirov will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Huge trying to control but Kirov is working from the bottom.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Huge might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Kirov haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Huge pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Tony Huge showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Huge with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Kirov with a poor takedown
and Huge counters with a right hand to the body.
Kirov shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Huge but Huge pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Huge misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Kirov tries for a takedown but Huge sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Huge tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kiro Kirov. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kirov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Huge tries to avoid it but Kirov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Huge to the ground. Huge escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Huge looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kirov trying to control but Huge is working from the bottom.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Huge lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Kiro Kirov has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Kirov has his foot on Huge's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Huge works his way back into a safe position though.

Let's hope that Huge has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Huge got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kirov has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Huge has managed to get both his arms back between Kirov's legs - danger averted.
Huge seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Tony Huge comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Huge has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Tony Huge was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
