Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Evan Grantham!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Martin!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martin with a poor takedown
and Grantham counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Martin shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
enabling Grantham to counter with a crisp jab.
Martin shoots in looking for a takedown. Grantham tries to sprawl out of it but Martin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Grantham manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
We've been hearing reports that Grantham has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Evan Grantham has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Martin.
Martin tries for a takedown but Grantham circles away easily
and Martin takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Martin tries to score with a low kick but Grantham moves his leg out of the way.
Grantham is looking to counter with a shot to the body.

Martin gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Martin tries to pull guard but Grantham holds him up against the ropes and eventually Martin drops back down to his feet.

Grantham escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Grantham misses with a straight right.
Martin tries for a takedown but Grantham circles away easily
and Grantham counters with a lovely straight right hand!

That's one minute gone in the round.
The fight stays on the outside here - Martin looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
A little feinted left hand from Grantham on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Grantham takes a swing at Martin's ribcage but misses.

Martin looking to score a takedown here. Grantham is defending well but Martin drives through and ends up in Grantham's guard.
Martin wants to control from the top but Grantham keeps moving.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Martin trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Grantham manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!


Martin has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Grantham can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Grantham slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Martin wants to sweep but no luck.

Martin is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Martin is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Grantham frees his head nicely. Oh but Martin has switched to an armbar! Grantham is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

A less than humble Frank Martin misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
