Starman comes to the cage accompanied by David Bowie - Starman. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Starman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Ohil Bahaly!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Starman jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Bahaly takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Bahaly tries to move into range but Starman moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.


It looks like Ohil Bahaly has been cut.

Bahaly closes the distance and pushes Starman back into the cage.
Bahaly throws an elbow that misses.
Starman swings wildly with an uppercut but Bahaly uses good head movement to avoid it.
Starman blocks an elbow strike.

Starman breaks the clinch.

Bahaly closes the distance and clinches.
Bahaly pushes off an throws an elbow but Starman leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Starman pushes Bahaly back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Starman content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Starman pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Bahaly creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
We've been hearing reports that Starman has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Bahaly pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Starman works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Starman breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Starman looks to land a combination but Bahaly avoids it well.
Bahaly raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Starman scores with a punch to the head.

Starman fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bahaly sprawls well initially but Starman persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Starman lands strikes from half guard.
Bahaly tries to kick Starman off in order to stand up. Starman Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Starman looks up at the clock and then as Bahaly takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Starman smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Starman cracks Bahaly with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Bahaly is still in real trouble! Can Starman finish him?

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Starman connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Bahaly some visible discomfort.
Starman scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Bahaly is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Starman can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Starman!
An out of breath John Starman thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
