Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Blood (ranked 171 p4p, 21 weight class) and Madik MBaku (ranked 865 p4p, 111 weight class). Blood comes to the cage accompanied by Raining Blood - Slayer. Both these fighters are unbeaten, so somebody's 0 has got to go!Jack Blood had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Paul Tew and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
MBaku throws a hook but Blood avoids it easily.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Blood passes MBaku's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Blood uses his free foot to push down on MBaku's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for MBaku.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
MBaku is looking for a sweep. Blood is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Blood working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Blood is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

MBaku isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Blood stacks MBaku on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Blood!
Blood misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

It seemed like MBaku was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jack Blood will probably get the nod.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

That was a close round but Jack Blood did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it.
