PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Theodore Fisher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Rollin' . Theodore Fisher looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Theodore Fisher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tommy Jones!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, George Francis and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fisher misses with a jab, cross combination.
Fisher looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Jones shoots in looking for a takedown. Fisher tries to sprawl out of it but Jones keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fisher manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Fisher looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jones lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Fisher circles away quickly and effectively.
Jones tries to clinch up.

Jones fails with a takedown attempt.
Jones dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Fisher. That did some damage!
Jones has a takedown stuffed.
Theodore Fisher has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tommy Jones.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jones's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Jones duly obliges.
Jones avoids a punch combination nicely.
Jones tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Fisher paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Jones shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Jones has control of Fisher's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Fisher regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Fisher is trying to stand up.

Jones get's back to his feet.
Jones shoots in and drives through. Fisher sprawls well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Jones wants to clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tommy Jones dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Jones fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jones shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Fisher's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Jones throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jones accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Jones decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Fisher chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Jones can pounce on him.
Fisher avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jones is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Jones fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
A punch combination from Fisher misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jones fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jones dodges the punch combination from Fisher.

Jones feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Jones stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Theodore Fisher is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jones misses with a hook. Fisher ducked under it nicely.
Jones tries to clinch there but Fisher circles away.
Jones tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Fisher swivels and escapes.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Fisher throws a series of punches but Jones avoids them all with ease.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tommy Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Jones lands a nice leg kick that just misses Fisher's sensitive parts.
Jones is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Theodore Fisher has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tommy Jones.

Jones shoots in and bounces Fisher off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Jones gets to his feet. Fisher looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Jones darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Fisher knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jones on the ground.

Jones thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Fisher's head.
Jones throwing shots but Fisher is blocking nicely.

Jones decides to stand up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Jones is looking to slow Fisher down with leg kicks.
Jones tries to clinch there but Fisher circles away.
Theodore Fisher has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Tommy Jones is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Fisher throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Jones counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Fisher!

And that's the end of the fight!
Tommy Jones comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Jones has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
