Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Johnson (ranked 4824 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trevor Tremblay (ranked 22278 p4p, 0 weight class). Trevor Tremblay will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Trevor Tremblay!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Steve Montenegro and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson tries for a takedown but Tremblay sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Tremblay throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Tremblay looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Nice defenses there by Johnson.
Tremblay tries to score a power double leg takedown but Johnson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Tremblay somewhat.
As Tremblay tries to get set, Johnson tries to push him back and clinch up but Tremblay manages to avoid the attempt.
Tremblay feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Johnson's calf.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johnson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Tremblay is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Tremblay shoots for a double leg takedown but Johnson sprawls well. He's pushed Tremblay's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Tremblay moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

Johnson can't get the takedown.
Tremblay jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Johnson walks away with a smile on his face. Tremblay gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Johnson dives in and grabs Tremblay's left leg, looking for a takedown. Tremblay pushes down on Johnson's head and hops out.
Tremblay feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Johnson's calf.
A bone on bone clash there as Johnson blocks the leg kick.
Johnson throws a big counter combination but Tremblay scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Tremblay dives in and grabs Johnson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Johnson pushes down on Tremblay's head and hops out.

Tremblay tries to keep at a distance but Johnson has taken the fight into the clinch.

Tremblay pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Johnson effectively controlling the action here.
Tremblay wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Tremblay stands and steps away. Johnson gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Johnson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tremblay tries to avoid it but Johnson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tremblay to the ground. Tremblay escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Johnson lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Tremblay or not.
Tremblay jumps guard but Johnson stands there with Tremblay around his waist. Tremblay gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Johnson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Tremblay drives through and clinches with Johnson against the cage.

Johnson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Tremblay can do to turn this around?
