Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Herman Summer (ranked 5639 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Ward (ranked 4510 p4p, 0 weight class). Ward has chosen Spazz - Crush Kill Destroy as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Max Ward is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Herman Summer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Max Ward! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Chad Campbell and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Summer misses the shot to the body. Ward fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Summer lands a lovely overhand right. Ward shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Summer but Summer pushes him off and we're back to square one. Ward shoots for a takedown but Summer saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Herman Summer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Max Ward. Ward shoots in but no luck this time. Ward shoots for a double leg takedown but Summer sprawls well. He's pushed Ward's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Summer was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Ward fails with the takedown and Summer counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ward fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Summer to the ground. Ward is now in Summer's guard. Ward won't allow Summer to sweep him here. Summer looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Ward working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Ward throwing strikes from guard but Summer blocks nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ward is looking to work some ground and pound but Summer has wrist control. Ward throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Summer wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Ward throwing strikes but missing. Summer is adopting a defensive guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Ward defending well as Summer loads up on a big left hand. Ward doesn't succeed with the takedown and Ward takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Herman Summer is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ward. Ward misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Summer pushes Ward up against the cage in a clinch. Summer lands with a light punch inside. Ward's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Summer breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Summer stuffs the takedown. Summer swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Ward doesn't succeed with the takedown letting Summer counter with a right hand. Ward with a poor takedown and Summer counters with a straight right hand. Ward uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Summer. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Summer lunges at Ward with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Ward's hand. A looping hook to the body misses from Summer. Ward does a little dance to reset his feet. Max Ward seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ward gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Ward takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
It looks like Max Ward has been cut. Summer misses with an uppercut. And Ward tries to counter it with a takedown but Summer pushes his down on his head and steps out. Ward closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Summer quickly recovers to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ward throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Summer wants to get back to full guard. Summer knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ward on the ground. Summer gets full guard. Summer wants to sweep here but Ward controlling him for the moment. Summer pulls Ward in close to prevent any damage. Ward trying to control but Summer is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ward landing with the ground and pound. Ward's corner is telling him to maintain position. Ward trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Ward keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Summer's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Summer utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Summer not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Summer cracks Ward with a right hand to the side of the head. Ward fails with the takedown letting Summer counter with a right hand. Ward dives in and grabs Summer's left leg, looking for a takedown. Summer pushes down on Ward's head and hops out. Summer is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Ward shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Summer counters with a lovely straight right hand! Summer defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Ward. Summer throwing a counter right hand but Ward manages to avoid it. Ward looks winded! Ward displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Summer throws out the jab. Summer defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Ward. Summer appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Ward with a lazy takedown attempt and Summer counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Ward fails with the takedown enabling Summer to counter with a crisp jab. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Herman Summer dominated that round. The cut man is working on Max Ward's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Ward has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Summer finds it's way round the side to connect with Ward's head. Ward feints and as Summer raises his hands in defense, Ward changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Summer keeping moving, preventing Ward from controlling successfully. Summer on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Summer tries to get out of the position. Summer wants to sweep but no luck. Ward trying to control the position from guard on top but Summer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ward lands a couple of elbows. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ward postures up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Summer is looking to clinch. Summer tries to clinch but Ward is having none of it. Ward shoots and misses and Summer counters with a lovely straight right hand! Ward misses with a takedown attempt and Summer counters with a stiff right hand. Herman Summer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Max Ward. Ward tries to score a power double leg takedown but Summer sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ward somewhat. Ward is breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A jab from Summer does it's job there. Ward tries for a takedown but Summer circles away easily and Summer counters with a left to the body. Summer connects with a looping right hand.
Summer shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Ward eats them both and turns towards Summer to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Ward is rocked! Summer drops Ward with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Ward looks back up at him and smiles so Summer waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Ward is still on wobbly legs! Can Summer finish him? Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Summer circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Ward to the canvas! Ward doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Summer keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
