The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ala Akpo clinches up with Hartman and pushes him back against the cage.
Hartman misses with a body punch.

Hartman ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Hartman no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Ala Akpo controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Hartman has his foot on Ala Akpo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ala Akpo works his way back into a safe position though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hartman wants to stand up but Ala Akpo is controlling him.
Ala Akpo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hartman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ala Akpo is working Hartman over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Hartman has gone for a leg lock! Ala Akpo slips out almost immediately though and dives into Hartman's guard.

As Ala Akpo tries to get set, Hartman tries to push him back and clinch up but Ala Akpo manages to avoid the attempt.

Hartman has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Ala Akpo after a bit of a struggle.
Ala Akpo has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Hartman clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Hartman is trying escape back to his feet. He turns into his opponent's guard and eventually finds his way back to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Hartman moves out of range of the body kick from Ala Akpo.
Hartman fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Ala Akpo sprawls well initially but Hartman persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Ala Akpo is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Hartman has latched onto it... Big trouble! Hartman pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Ala Akpo is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Hartman!
