Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Darius Witt (ranked 6926 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andre Zirkovic (ranked 4809 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Darius Witt has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Darius Witt seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Darius Witt! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Andre Zirkovic! The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Igor Prikhodko and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Witt fails with the takedown. Zirkovic gets tackled into the cage by Witt. Witt maintains the clinch. Witt is trying to break the clinch but Zirkovic is controlling him. Witt wants a takedown.
Witt working hard to break the clinch. Zirkovic has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Witt is trying to keep an underhook but Zirkovic manages to get the takedown into half guard. Witt trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Witt is trying to escape the mount.
Zirkovic wants to take Witt's back here but Witt is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zirkovic wants to stand but Witt is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
Witt swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Zirkovic lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Zirkovic is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Witt has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Witt! Witt landing with the ground and pound. Zirkovic throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Zirkovic looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Witt won't allow Zirkovic to get back to his feet. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Zirkovic can do anything to dispel that myth. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Zirkovic has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Witt can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Witt got a little sloppy there for a moment and Zirkovic has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Witt has managed to get both his arms back between Zirkovic's legs - danger averted. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Zirkovic holds on and takes a little breather. Witt drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Zirkovic manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Witt has Zirkovic in his guard. Zirkovic wants to control from the top but Witt keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Witt is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Zirkovic looking to pass the guard. Witt wants to get back to his feet but Zirkovic is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Andre Zirkovic dominated that round. That's time! Witt's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Zirkovic gets the takedown into side control. Zirkovic tries to advance to mount but Witt instead regains half guard. Zirkovic has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Witt is defending against the submission attempts here by Zirkovic.
Zirkovic is keen to just control but Witt is a slippery customer. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Zirkovic is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Witt might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Witt regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Zirkovic. Zirkovic postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Zirkovic is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Zirkovic tries to stand but Witt is controlling from the bottom. Zirkovic wants to pass the guard but Witt is keeping the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Zirkovic pushes down on Witt's leg and manages to get into half guard. Witt is looking to get back to is feet but Zirkovic passes into side control.
Zirkovic advances to full mount. Witt's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Zirkovic fails to take his opponent's back. Zirkovic is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Witt regains half guard. Zirkovic wants to advance to full mount but Witt doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Zirkovic pushing down on Witt's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Witt taking some punishment here, with Zirkovic in his half guard. Zirkovic prevents Witt from standing back up.
Zirkovic seems to be looking for submissions.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Zirkovic is pressing down on Witt's thigh, looking to free his foot. Witt is holding on for now. Zirkovic is breathing heavily. Zirkovic missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Zirkovic is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Zirkovic in particular looking to stall. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Witt trying to control but Zirkovic postures up.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zirkovic looking to break Witt's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Witt remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Zirkovic will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Witt is trying to get back to his feet but Zirkovic has full control of the position and if anything, Witt has just worked his way into a worse spot. Zirkovic working for the choke. Zirkovic gets his hands free as Witt looks to control. I really don't envy Witt right now.
Witt is having to fend off submission attempts from Zirkovic, who is looking to sink in the choke. Zirkovic doesn't have the hooks in though and Witt manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard. Zirkovic takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Zirkovic seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Andre Zirkovic has got the better of the ground game so far. Witt maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Zirkovic could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Witt has cracked it and Zirkovic is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Witt!
