Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rolland Foley (ranked 24783 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ikehara Washi (ranked 5749 p4p, 0 weight class). Ikehara Washi will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rolland Foley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ikehara Washi! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Jeff Smith and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Foley defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Washi. Washi shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Foley is trying to defend but Washi finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Foley tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Washi looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Foley might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Foley wants to get back to his feet. The fighters are battling for position here. Foley manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Foley could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Foley is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Washi is controlling him. Foley has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Washi has passed into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round. Washi trying to control the position but Foley is working away. Washi is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Foley will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Foley managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Washi.
A lull in the action here as Washi stalls from top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Washi tries to move into full mount but can't pass Foley's legs. Foley is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Washi's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. The fighters are battling for position here. Foley manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Foley throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Washi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Foley swivels though and keeps the full guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Washi closes the distance and clinches up with Foley, looking for a takedown. Washi pushes Foley against the cage but Foley circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Foley tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Foley gets caught napping as Washi dives in and scores a takedown. Foley manages to retain guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Washi passes Foley's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Washi looks winded! Washi looks to land a strike but Foley avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Washi trying to control the position from guard on top but Foley is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Washi accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Washi is looking to advance position but Foley has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Foley is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Washi has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Washi! Washi trying to control the position from guard on top but Foley is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Foley is on top in guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Washi is looking for a triangle but Foley pushes his legs off easily.

Washi tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Foley counters with a nice double leg into guard. Foley drops back looking for a leg! Washi is in trouble here! Foley seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Washi is pulling down on Foley's head to control his posture. Foley not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Foley drops back looking for a leg! Washi is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Washi manages to kick Foley off! Foley jumps back into Washi's guard. Foley connects with a couple of short punches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Washi is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Foley is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Washi forces Foley back against the cage and clinches. Foley tries to land knees in the clinch but Washi avoids the damage to the body. Foley tries to stall but Washi uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Washi breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Nice takedown defense from Foley. No joy for Washi on that attempt. Foley wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Washi closes the distance and lands a one-two.
It looks like Rolland Foley has been cut. Washi dives in for a single leg takedown but Foley sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Foley tries to counter by clinching up but Washi breaks away and moves out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Foley swats away the attempt to clinch by Washi. Foley seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Washi takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Washi tries to clinch up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Washi misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A counter left hand to the body from Foley misses its target. Foley takes the fight into the clinch. Washi is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Foley takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Foley stalling in the clinch.
Foley tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Ikehara Washi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Foley blocks a leg kick. Foley throws a big counter combination but Washi scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Washi gets caught flat footed, as Foley shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Foley thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Washi wants to stand and escape but Foley is having none of it. Foley is in close to Washi's body, working some short punches and elbows. Washi is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Foley drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Washi manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Foley has Washi in his guard. Washi wants to get up but he can't break Foley's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Foley looking for a triangle here. Washi is fighting it but it looks tight! Foley pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Washi is tapping out - this one is all over!
