Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Elton Cameron (ranked 24511 p4p, 0 weight class) and TJ Minchew (ranked 4878 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Elton Cameron!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, TJ Minchew!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Kenichi Hosakawa and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Minchew closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Minchew is looking to take a break and control but Cameron is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Cameron misses with a strike from the bottom.
Minchew remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cameron regains half guard there - taking advantage of Minchew's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

Cameron is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Minchew scores with a couple of nice shots.
Minchew moves nicely into side control.
Cameron knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Minchew on the ground.

A combination from Minchew does no damage.
Minchew will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Cameron looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.

Cameron will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Minchew up against the cage.

Cameron wants the takedown. Minchew is fighting it off but Cameron persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Minchew's guard against the cage.

Cameron is staying active underneath Minchew, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Minchew pushes Cameron away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Cameron gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

That was a close second round but I would say that Elton Cameron will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Minchew enables Cameron to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Minchew manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Minchew wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Cameron manages to pass to side control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

You can see the frustration on Minchew's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Minchew is taking a breather. Cameron says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Cameron wants to control but Minchew is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Minchew has closed the distance and engaged Cameron in a clinch.

Cameron is trying to trip Minchew. He has hold of a leg but Minchew is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Cameron persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Minchew wants to sweep here but Cameron controlling him for the moment.

Cameron avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

And that's the end of the fight!
