Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alistair Fury (ranked 5076 p4p, 157 weight class) and Daniel Mendoza (ranked 5452 p4p, 115 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendoza throws a body punch but Fury moves out of range.

Mendoza shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Fury manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Fury isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Mendoza stacks Fury on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Mendoza!

Fury has one of Mendoza's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage.

Mendoza has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Fury clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Mendoza has the hooks in. Fury is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Fury could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Mendoza is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Fury has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Fury appears to be looking for a big counter.

Mendoza closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Alistair Fury has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Daniel Mendoza is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Well Mendoza has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
