Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tai Whishermann (ranked 4950 p4p, 460 weight class) and Marcus Harris (ranked 6014 p4p, 507 weight class). Marcus Harris will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tai Whishermann! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcus Harris! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shirou Masuda and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice takedown defense from Harris. No joy for Whishermann on that attempt. Harris throws out a counter right but Whishermann avoids it with no problem. Harris shoots for a takedown but Whishermann saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Harris goes for a double leg but Whishermann avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Whishermann continues to drive forward. Whishermann tries to keep at a distance but Harris has taken the fight into the clinch. Harris effectively controlling the action here. Harris jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Whishermann walks away with a smile on his face. Harris gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Tai Whishermann has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcus Harris. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Harris connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Harris tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Whishermann swivels and escapes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Harris gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Whishermann counters with a nice double leg into guard. Whishermann pushing down on Harris's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Harris wants to control but Whishermann is keeping busy and won't allow it. That's two minutes gone in the round. Harris tries to get to full guard but Whishermann has control of the leg. Harris makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Harris. Harris throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Harris working a defensive guard here.
Whishermann is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. We've been hearing that Whishermann has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Harris shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Whishermann defends it nicely. Harris tries to clinch there but Whishermann circles away.
Harris changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Whishermann looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Harris tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Harris has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Whishermann is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Harris's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Harris stands up out of the half guard. Whishermann shoots in for a takedown but Harris shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Harris fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Whishermann avoids it really well and circles away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Marcus Harris will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Whishermann stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Whishermann wants it to stay on the feet. Harris misses with a takedown attempt and Whishermann decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Harris's guard. Whishermann controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Whishermann's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Harris looking to control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Harris is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Whishermann is aware though and is defending well. Harris throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Whishermann stands and throws Harris's legs to the side, diving into side control. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Harris tries to buck Whishermann off but Whishermann is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Whishermann staying calm. Harris manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Harris looks to land a strike but Whishermann avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Whishermann looking for a guillotine here but Harris defends easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Whishermann keeping full guard, as Harris tries to pass. Harris stands up from Whishermann's guard - Harris perhaps looking for a knockout. Harris shoots in for a takedown but Whishermann shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Tai Whishermann has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcus Harris.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Whishermann looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Harris feints the counter takedown. Harris dives in for a single leg takedown but Whishermann sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Whishermann tries to counter with a takedown but Harris is quick to defend against it. Harris closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Harris wants to control but Whishermann is keeping him busy. Whishermann wants to get back to full guard. Harris content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Harris is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Harris is breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Harris sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Whishermann defending well though. Harris is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Harris is looking to take a break and control but Whishermann is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Whishermann shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Harris's guard. Harris is wriggling around but Whishermann manages to pass to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Tai Whishermann will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Harris manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. And Harris tries to counter it with a takedown but Whishermann pushes his down on his head and steps out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Whishermann stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Whishermann wants it to stay on the feet. Whishermann shoots in for a takedown but Harris shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Harris defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Whishermann. Harris is looking for the big counter here. No luck with that takedown attempt from Whishermann. That's three minutes gone in the round. Whishermann has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Harris is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Harris pulls Whishermann into guard.
Harris is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Whishermann keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Harris looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Harris is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Whishermann has managed to free his arm - good work. Harris missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Whishermann blocking the ground and pound attempt from Harris. Harris tries to pass the half guard into mount. Whishermann knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Harris wants to get back to his feet.
And that's the end of the fight! Marcus Harris comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Harris has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
