Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Walmir Ribeiro De Vasconcelos!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Lou da Vinci and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vasconcelos closes this distance looking for a takedown but Wheetley circles away.
Vasconcelos leaves Wheetley with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Vasconcelos shoots in for a takedown but Wheetley shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Vasconcelos looks for a takedown but Wheetley sprawls well.
Odis Wheetley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Walmir Ribeiro De Vasconcelos.

Wheetley rushes Vasconcelos and presses him up against the cage.
Wheetley really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Vasconcelos drops down looking for an ankle pick but Wheetley pulls his leg out and moves away.
Wheetley displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Vasconcelos.
Wheetley seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Wheetley is looking to slow Vasconcelos down with leg kicks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wheetley misses with a takedown attempt - Vasconcelos sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Vasconcelos tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Vasconcelos shoots in but no luck this time.
Wheetley seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Vasconcelos shoots in looking for a takedown but Wheetley manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Vasconcelos's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Vasconcelos shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Wheetley as he avoids it easily.

Vasconcelos shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Wheetley defends it nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Vasconcelos tries to score a power double leg takedown but Wheetley sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Vasconcelos somewhat.
Wheetley keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Vasconcelos defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Wheetley.
Vasconcelos takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Vasconcelos fails with a takedown attempt.
Wheetley attempts a counter takedown but Vasconcelos avoids it well and moves away.
Wheetley moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Wheetley scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Vasconcelos doesn't seem bothered though.

Vasconcelos gets caught napping as Wheetley dives in and scores a takedown. Vasconcelos manages to retain guard.

Vasconcelos is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Wheetley is aware though and is defending well.
Wheetley knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Vasconcelos on the ground.

Wheetley slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Vasconcelos has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Wheetley can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Wheetley will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Vasconcelos escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Wheetley gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Vasconcelos is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Wheetley is aware though and is defending well.

Vasconcelos is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Wheetley rolls with it to try and escape but Vasconcelos cranks on the arm and Wheetley is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
