Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hakeem Oki (ranked 1040 p4p, 123 weight class) and Demetrius Tektas (ranked 3092 p4p, 336 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Tektas's choice of entrance music: Alexander The Great. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
24 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hakeem Oki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 10 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, Demetrius Tektas! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Daniel Blasius and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Oki fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Hakeem Oki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Oki throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Tektas counters with a nice double leg into side control. Oki won't be happy with that. Tektas wants to lay and pray for a moment but Oki keeps working. Tektas scores with a couple of short elbows. Tektas controls the position. Oki is pushing Tektas's head away, looking to escape. Tektas manages to hold on to the position though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tektas wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Oki, who protects the arm well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tektas misses with the ground and pound. Oki is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Tektas is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Tektas prevents Oki from getting the reversal. Tektas looking to ground and pound but Oki is blocking nicely. Tektas controlling the position easily from mount. Tektas lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Oki hang on?
That's two minutes gone in the round. Oki is desperately trying to improve his position but Tektas has a good base and remains in mount. Tektas controlling the pace for now. Tektas manages to capitalize on a mistake by Oki to take his back! Oki is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Oki is trying to remain composed but Tektas is hammering down strikes to the side of his head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tektas is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Oki trying to control the position but Tektas manages to sink in the hooks. Oki avoids the strikes from Tektas. Well, with Tektas on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Oki is tapping out... Can he escape the position? Tektas throwing sloppy strikes. Tektas throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage. Tektas is looking for a rear naked choke here but Oki reverses the position brilliantly into Tektas's guard!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Tektas looking for a sweep. Not yet Tektas, not yet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Oki stays in close to Tektas's body and controls the position. Tektas keeping moving, preventing Oki from controlling successfully. Oki controls from within his opponent's guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Tektas managing to control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Demetrius Tektas dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Oki will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Tektas misses with a looping left. Oki throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Tektas. Tektas tests Oki's chin there with a solid looking shot. Tektas drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Tektas distracts Oki with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Tektas trying to control the position from guard on top but Oki is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Oki is pulling down on Tektas's head to control his posture.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tektas trying to control but Oki is working from the bottom. Tektas postures up in Oki's guard and throws a big left but Oki blocks it. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Oki wants to sweep but no luck.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Tektas uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Oki. Oki throws a hook but Tektas avoids it easily. Tektas rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Oki moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Oki throws a series of punches but Tektas moves out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Oki misses with a looping left. Oki works over Tektas's head and body with a nice combination. Oki tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Tektas was well out of range. Poor timing from Oki. Oki throws a nice looking combination but Tektas bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. And Tektas tries to counter it with a takedown but Oki pushes his down on his head and steps out. Tektas avoids a kick to the body.
Hakeem Oki is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Oki misses with a straight right. Oki scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Tektas misses with a left hand and Oki counters with a stiff right hand. Tektas uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Oki.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Oki rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Tektas moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Tektas takes a shot right to the bread basket. Tektas pulls out of a head kick attempt.
As Tektas looks to move away, Oki throws a big counter combo but Tektas just gets out of the way. A swing and a miss from Tektas. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Tektas, right into the meat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Oki comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. A big right from Oki misses. Tektas lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Tektas. Tektas throws a leg kick but Oki moved away. Tektas connects with a solid leg kick. Oki tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Tektas was well out of range. Poor timing from Oki. Tektas with the counter takedown but Oki avoids it easily. Oki looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. A jab from Oki misses. A head kick by Oki misses and Tektas counters with a nice body shot. Tektas bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Oki is looking for a sweep. Tektas is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Oki knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. A lull in the action here as Tektas stalls from top position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Oki is looking to regain half guard here but Tektas keeps moving and retains side control. Tektas tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Tektas has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Hakeem Oki will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Oki throws a right and a left that both miss. Oki is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Oki misses with a straight left. Oki throws a looping overhand right but Tektas ducks down to avoid it. Oki throws a combination that misses and Tektas counters with a nice kick to the body. Tektas lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Oki throws a lazy right hand but Tektas sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. A looping hook to the body misses from Oki. Tektas does a little dance to reset his feet. The fighters circle momentarily. Tektas darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Oki has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Tektas finds it's way round the side to connect with Oki's head. Tektas throws a series of punches but Oki moves out of range. Tektas has been the more effective fighter overall so far. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Tektas dives in and grabs Oki's left leg, looking for a takedown. Oki pushes down on Tektas's head and hops out. Tektas scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
That's one minute gone in the round. Oki throws a half hearted mid kick. Tektas throws a leg kick which misses Oki's front leg but catches the back leg as Oki tries to avoid it. A looping hook to the body misses from Oki. Tektas does a little dance to reset his feet. Tektas tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Tektas misses with a lunging right hand
letting Oki counter with a right hand. Oki connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Tektas's hands. Oki scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Oki cracks Tektas with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Tektas ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Hakeem Oki is winning the standup battle so far. Oki bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Oki misses with an uppercut. Tektas saw that one coming. Oki lands with a hook. Tektas tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Tektas tries a head kick but it misses.
Tektas goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nice sprawl there from Oki as Tektas shoots in. Oki swinging wildly here.
Tektas throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Tektas uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Oki. Oki clobbers Tektas with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Tektas throws a body shot but no joy. Tektas with a nice cross. Oki is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Tektas pivots, looking for a leg kick but Oki is out of range and Tektas settles back down. Tektas throws a hook but Oki avoids it easily. Tektas walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tektas ducks under a wild hook from Oki. Oki connects with a looping right hand.

A punch combination from Oki misses. Tektas drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Oki defends it well. Nice defenses there by Oki. Oki staying out of range there. Oki throws a left and a right that both miss
and Tektas counters with a nice double leg into side control. Oki won't be happy with that. Oki is looking to get back to his feet here but Tektas is keeping cool and he's managed to take Oki's back. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Tektas punches the canvas rather than the man. Tektas has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Tektas is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Our spies down at at UnderGround Training Facility inform us that Tektas has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Tektas biding his time, controlling Oki. Tektas missing with strikes.
