Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Darnell Olson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Andrei Nistor!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Paul Tew and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nistor is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Olson's half guard.

Olson looking for submissions off his back.
Still in half guard, Nistor seems content to control.
Olson trying to control but Nistor postures up.
Nistor throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Nistor working Olson over with strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Olson is trying to control but can't.
Olson is looking to improve his position.
Olson is staying active underneath Nistor, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Nistor perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Nistor tries to pass to full mount but Olson defends it.

Nistor is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Olson wants to get back to full guard.
It looks like Nistor is going to stand back up.
The fighters are battling for position here. Olson manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nistor throws an elbow that misses. Olson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Nistor's guard. Nice move by Olson!

Olson works over Nistor with some ground and pound from guard.

Nistor is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Olson throws a strike but Nistor rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Nistor is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Olson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Olson has escaped and now he's on top!

The fighters are working up against the cage. Nistor manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Olson is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Nistor to keep the fight standing.

Nistor manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Olson manages to get himself to full guard.


Olson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Nistor is aware though and is defending well.
Nistor must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Nistor trying to control the position from guard on top but Olson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Olson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Nistor is one step ahead there.
Olson has control of Nistor's left arm, preventing Nistor from doing any damage.

Olson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Nistor doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Nistor manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Nistor wants to control from the top but Olson keeps moving.

Olson lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Nistor wants to break the clinch but can't.

Nistor tightens his grip and picks Olson up, before dumping him to the ground. Olson manages to land in guard.
Nistor wants to pass the guard but Olson is keeping the position.
Nistor is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Nistor postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Olson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Nistor, into his guard.

Olson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Nice sprawl there from Nistor as Olson shoots in.

Nistor throws a head kick that misses.

Nistor bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Nistor is breathing heavily.
Olson gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Nistor is trying to control the action in half guard but Olson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Nistor wants to take a breather but Olson is having none of it.

Nistor wants to pass to mount but Olson is defending the position.
Nistor seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Olson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Nistor misses with a takedown
and Olson counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Andrei Nistor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nistor takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Nistor tries for a takedown but Olson circles away easily
and Olson counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Olson lands with a good body shot.
Olson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Nistor as he jumps to the side.
Nistor wants to counter with a clinch but Olson pushes him away.

Olson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Nistor sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Olson somewhat.
Nistor throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Olson's waist but Olson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Nistor off to one side.
Olson fakes the leg kick and cracks Nistor in the body.
Nistor keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Olson digs a good body shot into Nistor's ribs.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Olson throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Nistor misses with a looping left.
Andrei Nistor is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Nistor slaps away a takedown attempt from Olson, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Olson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Nistor is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Nistor tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Olson smiles and moves away.
Olson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Nistor is fending him off so far but Olson persists. Nope, Nistor circles away and we're back to standing.

Olson forces Nistor back against the cage and clinches.
Olson fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Nistor is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Olson gets underhooks to prevent Nistor's takedown attempt.
Olson drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Nistor gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Olson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Nistor throws a big elbow that misses.
Nistor trying to stand up but can't free himself from Olson's guard.
Olson wants to sweep here but Nistor controlling him for the moment.

Olson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Olson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Olson is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Nistor is looking to work some ground and pound but Olson has wrist control.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Olson pulls Nistor in to control the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Nistor looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Olson is fending him off so far but Nistor persists. Nope, Olson circles away and we're back to standing.
Darnell Olson is winning the standup battle so far.

Nistor tries to keep at a distance but Olson has taken the fight into the clinch.
Nistor tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Olson just stands there and leans against the cage.

Olson turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Olson manages to end up in side control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Olson stands up and we're back to a striking position.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Olson.

And that's the end of the fight!
Darnell Olson showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Olson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
