Coming up we have a bantamweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Antonio Brown (ranked 1445 p4p, 80 weight class) and Mr Ward (ranked 5177 p4p, 211 weight class). And in the blue corner, fighting out of Hilo, with a TWGC record of 10 wins and 13 losses; Mr Ward!

Ward shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Brown napping and manages to drive through into side control! Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: Brown (0) vs (4) Ward
You can see the frustration on Brown 's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Ward is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Brown knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Ward has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Steel's Grappling Penn. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Brown tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ward wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Ward thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Ward is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Brown has escaped the position, nice work there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ward is working to tighten his grip on Brown 's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Brown has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Ward is really squeezing tight and eventually Brown passes out! Ward breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

In his post fight interview, Mr Ward started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception. |
