Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rick Showtime (ranked 4359 p4p, 0 weight class) and Russell Paulman (ranked 2254 p4p, 0 weight class). Showtime comes to the cage accompanied by Old Toms Hut. Paulman has chosen War is my Love as his entrance music. Russell Paulman will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

16 - 13 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Russell Paulman!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Illya Tyunina and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Showtime misses with a body kick.
Paulman shoots in and gets a takedown into Showtime's guard.
Paulman sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Paulman sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Showtime's guard.
Paulman works his way into side control.
Showtime trying to remain calm as Paulman controls from the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Showtime knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Paulman on the ground.

Showtime wants to get back to his feet but Paulman drags him back down.

Paulman has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Paulman tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Paulman has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Paulman is working to tighten his grip on Showtime's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Showtime has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Paulman is really squeezing tight and eventually Showtime passes out! Paulman breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
