Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Enitan Arendse (ranked 68 p4p, 9 weight class) and Galen Dall (ranked 36 p4p, 4 weight class). Dall has chosen Red - Already Over as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Enitan Arendse!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, Galen Dall!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Richard Clark and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dall misses with a body shot.
We've been told by Arendse's head coaches at IMMA Gym of Elite ASS that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Dall shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Arendse as he avoids it easily.
Arendse darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Dall bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Arendse tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Arendse can't do much from the bottom here.
I wouldn't like to be where Arendse is right now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Arendse wants to control but Dall postures up.

Dall wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Arendse, who protects the arm well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Arendse is looking for a sweep.

Dall tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dall has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Dall is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Arendse has escaped the position, nice work there.

Dall wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Arendse, who protects the arm well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Dall goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Arendse has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Dall but great work by Arendse.
Arendse is staying tight to Dall's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Dall sneaks back into half guard.
Arendse perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Dall is trying to get back to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Arendse stalling.

Dall is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Arendse pulls his head out easily.
Dall wants to improve his position but Arendse is controlling well.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Dall actively working from the bottom here.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Arendse throws a hook to the side of Dall's head but Dall sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Arendse looks to throw the jab but Dall is out of range.

Dall drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Arendse sneaks out the side door and pushes Dall away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Arendse misses with a hook. Dall ducked under it nicely.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Dall, right into the meat.
Dall tries for a takedown but Arendse sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Dall tries to score a power double leg takedown but Arendse sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dall somewhat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Enitan Arendse dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Arendse lands a nice shot to the body.
Arendse throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Dall takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Dall closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Arendse's guard.
Arendse is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Dall can do to turn this around?

Dall drops back, looking for a kneebar! Arendse looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Arendse looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Arendse!

Dall tries to bench press Arendse off him but Arendse keeps the position.

Dall is persistently looking for the submission but Arendse is defending it well.

Well, with Dall on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Arendse is tapping out... Can he escape the position?

I really don't envy Arendse right now.

Dall is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Arendse is defending well though. Dall let's go of the attempt for now.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Dall working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
Arendse is trying to break free.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Arendse is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Galen Dall showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

and Arendse counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Arendse is trying to control Dall's posture but Dall avoids it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dall goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Arendse has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Dall but great work by Arendse.
Dall gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Arendse not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Dall looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Arendse has picked Dall up and slammed him! Dall can't keep hold of the triangle and Arendse manages to pass to side control!
Dall tries to buck Arendse off but Arendse is having none of it.

Dall tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Arendse wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Arendse misses with a wild body shot.
Arendse just misses with a punch to the body.
Arendse connects with a good right hand that stumbles Dall. Dall circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Nice defenses there by Dall.
Arendse stuffs the takedown.
Dall shoots in but Arendse avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Enitan Arendse has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Galen Dall.

Arendse swings for the body but Dall moves out of range.
Arendse throws a body shot but no joy.
Dall darts in looking for a takedown but Arendse gets double underhooks and turns Dall into the cage.
Arendse was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Horrible takedown attempt by Dall or perhaps it was just good defense by Arendse, which made it look bad.

Dall is looking to advance position but Arendse has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Arendse misses the body punch

and Dall decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Arendse's guard.

Dall has gone for a leg lock! Arendse slips out almost immediately though and dives into Dall's guard.

Dall is looking for a triangle here but Arendse uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Dall shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Arendse sprawls well. Arendse wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dall gets slowly back to his feet.

Arendse lands with a hook. Dall tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Arendse throws a wild body kick that Dall sees coming a mile off.

Arendse tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Dall manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Arendse digs a good body shot into Dall's ribs.
Arendse misses with an attempted mid kick.
Dall misses with a takedown attempt - Arendse sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Dall is absolutely dripping with sweat - he looks exhausted.
Arendse bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Dall's head.
Arendse fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Dall.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Dall closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Arendse did well to prevent Dall getting side control.

Dall takes a jab right on the kisser.

Well Arendse has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
