Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jorge Salgado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Carlos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Antonio Carlos! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Edson Gomes and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Salgado scores a takedown into full mount! Carlos wants to hold on but Salgado pushes him away. Carlos is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Salgado wants to control the pace but Carlos is squirming around nicely. Carlos is desperately trying to improve his position but Salgado has a good base and remains in mount. Salgado with a couple of short strikes. Carlos can't escape the position.

Salgado is looking for a kimura but Carlos is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Salgado to get the leverage. Carlos is staying active underneath Salgado, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Carlos is positioning himself well to prevent Salgado advancing to mount. Salgado could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Salgado is looking to clinch but Carlos is avoiding it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Salgado looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Carlos trying to hold on to Salgado's head to control him but Salgado postures up.
Carlos slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Carlos working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Salgado doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Carlos is tightening it up a little... Salgado has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Salgado reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Salgado taps out! nice BJJ there by Carlos!
