Umanouke comes to the cage accompanied by Kenji Kawai's Making of a Cyborg. Ueda Umanouke has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Umanouke uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Gray has time to react.
Gray tried to score with a low kick but Umanouke checks it.

Umanouke shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Umanouke was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Umanouke is looking to take a break and control but Gray is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ground and pound from Umanouke seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Umanouke isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Gray stacks Umanouke on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Gray!
Gray content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ueda Umanouke will probably get the nod.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ueda Umanouke.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Umanouke, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In his post fight interview, Ueda Umanouke started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
