PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Theodore Dobrovolskiy (ranked 4468 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barir El Hassen (ranked 6566 p4p, 0 weight class). El Hassen has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Barir El Hassen told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Dobrovolskiy decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Dobrovolskiy looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks El Hassen with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Dobrovolskiy connects with a nice short shot to El Hassen's temple.
Dobrovolskiy has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Dobrovolskiy is nestled in close to El Hassen, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
