Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Esa Kettu (ranked 844 p4p, 122 weight class) and Pekka Pera (ranked 723 p4p, 110 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Esa Kettu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
25 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pekka Pera! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kettu on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Pera. Pera obviously looking to wear him down.
We've been told by Kettu's head coaches at Helsinki Private Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Pera throws a body shot but no joy. Kettu with a jab. A jab from Kettu misses. Pera lands with a nice body punch. Pera misses with a hook. Kettu ducked under it nicely. Pera dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Kettu misses with an uppercut. A slow jab from Pera misses its intended target. Kettu takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Kettu misses with a body punch
and Pera counters with an inside leg kick. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Pera ducks under a wild hook from Kettu. Kettu closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Pera's guard. Kettu trying to control but Pera is working from the bottom. Pera working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kettu.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kettu is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Kettu has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Pera looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Pera looking to control.
Pera is pulling down on Kettu's head to control his posture. Kettu will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Pera preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Kettu lands a couple of digs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Kettu slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Kettu lands an elbow. Pera avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Kettu. Kettu looking to control but instead Pera has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard. Kettu not landing any meaningful shots this time. Kettu wants to pass the guard but Pera is defending well. Kettu throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Kettu content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Pera moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kettu wants to control from the top but Pera keeps moving. Kettu sitting in guard here, content to control. Kettu trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Pera is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Kettu works a leg free and moves into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Kettu is controlling the pace.
Pera is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Kettu is trying to control the action in half guard but Pera is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Kettu connects with a nice short shot to Pera's temple. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pera is looking to improve his position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kettu slips a nice elbow through Pera's hands, connecting with Pera's forehead. Kettu is trying to control. Pera wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Esa Kettu dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Kettu throws a leg kick which misses Pera's front leg but catches the back leg as Pera tries to avoid it. Kettu loads up on a big right hand but Pera slips the punch. Esa Kettu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pera scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Pera lands a body shot.
A big left from Kettu misses. Pera tries to clinch but Kettu is having none of it. Pera scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Kettu doesn't seem bothered though. Kettu fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Pera manages to avoid it. Pera has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight. Kettu throws out a loose jab but Pera uses good head movement to avoid it. Pera misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Kettu counters with a right hand to the body. Pera ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kettu moves away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pera takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Kettu fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Pera moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kettu swings for the body but Pera moves out of range.
A big right from Pera misses. An attempted straight right counter from Kettu misses the target.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kettu will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Pera throws a leg kick but Kettu moved away. Kettu misses with a wild body shot. Kettu tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Pera swings away with a leg kick that misses. Kettu throws a lazy uppercut
and Pera counters with a nice low kick that buckles Kettu's knee momentarily. Pekka Pera seems to be getting the better of the standup. Kettu finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
A clash of legs there as Kettu blocks the low kick. Kettu throwing a counter right hand but Pera manages to avoid it. Pera throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Pera looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Kettu wants to improve his position but Pera is controlling well.
Kettu slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Esa Kettu overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pera lands a couple of elbows. Pera looking to sit in guard and control but Kettu gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Pera keeping moving, preventing Kettu from controlling successfully. Pera is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Kettu bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Kettu cracks Pera with a good jab. Kettu takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Kettu lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Kettu throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. A looping hook to the body misses from Kettu. Pera does a little dance to reset his feet. Pera fails with a takedown attempt. Pera keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Kettu tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Pera tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kettu manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Kettu thinks about countering with a body kick. Pera checks a leg kick. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Esa Kettu dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Pera missing with a left hand there. Kettu was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Kettu throws out a loose jab but Pera uses good head movement to avoid it. Kettu takes a swing at Pera's ribcage but misses. Pera dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Pera just misses with a punch to the body.
Kettu lands with a right hand. Kettu scores with the left hand. Pera knows he should have avoided that one. Kettu keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Pera. Kettu with a hook. Pera has a takedown stuffed. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Good exchange - Kettu coming out on top. Kettu lands a jab. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Kettu.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pera avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Pera is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Kettu is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Kettu tries to work over Pera's front leg with a kick but Pera checks it. Kettu fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Pera has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. A leg kick checked by Pera. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Pera lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Kettu has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Kettu and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Pera connects with a leg kick. Kettu looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Pera takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Kettu swats away the attempt to clinch by Pera. A big left from Pera misses. Pera steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kettu. Pera moves into the clinch successfully.
Pera lands with a left to the head. Pera stalling the fight.
Kettu misses with a short punch on the inside. Pera lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Pekka Pera has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pera has Kettu pushed against the cage. Pera lands a shot to the body. Pera prevents Kettu from breaking the clinch. A right handed body shot lands from Kettu.
Kettu lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kettu misses with a punch on the inside.
Kettu blocks a body shot from Pera. Pera is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent. Kettu blocking some punches.
A short body shot lands from Kettu as the two fighters clinch.
Kettu pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Kettu lands with an uppercut that bounces Pera off the cage and back into range. Pera throws a body punch but Kettu moves out of range. Kettu lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Pera moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Kettu lands a jab. Kettu is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Kettu throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Pera is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Kettu with a body shot.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kettu shoots in for a takedown but Pera shows good takedown defense. Kettu gets caught napping as Pera dives in and scores a takedown. Kettu manages to retain guard. Kettu pushes Pera off and scrambles back to his feet.
Pera misses the shot to the body. Pera misses with a straight right. Kettu scores with a body shot.
Pera looks to land a body kick but Kettu moved away. Pera with a body punch. A glancing blow. Pera misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kettu.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Kettu's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Kettu duly obliges. Pera takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Pera tried to score with a low kick but Kettu checks it. Kettu keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Pera. Kettu scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Pera throws a hook but Kettu blocks it. Kettu misses with a lunging right hand
and Pera counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Pera misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kettu.
Kettu pushes Pera up against the cage in a clinch. Kettu fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Pera throws a punch but it's blocked by Kettu. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. A short right from Pera on the inside. Pera tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Pera digs a right hand underneath Kettu's ribcage. Kettu let out a lung full of air as it connected. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Kettu. Pera swings wildly with an uppercut but Kettu uses good head movement to avoid it.
And that's the end of the fight! Esa Kettu showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kettu, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
