Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joan Vila (ranked 1407 p4p, 164 weight class) and Diego Hageman (ranked 1217 p4p, 144 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Diego Hageman was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice straight punches there by Hageman. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Hageman.
Vila scores with the left hand. Hageman knows he should have avoided that one.
It looks like Diego Hageman has been cut.
Vila avoids a punch combination nicely.
Vila swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Hageman.

Vila throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Hageman swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Hageman lands a leg kick that knocks Vila off balance momentarily.
Vila throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Hageman's head.

and Vila counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Hageman has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Some bone on bone action there as Hageman checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Hageman on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Vila cracks Hageman with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Vila fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Hageman on the side of the head.
Vila feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Hageman sprawling to the canvas! Hageman rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Vila finish him?!
Hageman is rocked!
That has opened up Diego Hageman's cut even more.
Vila throws a lazy uppercut
and Hageman counters with a nice low kick that buckles Vila's knee momentarily.
Hageman is still on wobbly legs! Can Vila finish him?
Vila walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Vila misses with a two punch combination.
Hageman seems to have recovered his senses.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Hageman, right into the meat.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hageman goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Hageman moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Oooooh!!! Vila has knocked Hageman down with a huge combo! Vila steps away and waves a wobbly Hageman back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Vila steps in with a hook that catches Hageman right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Vila follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Hageman looks absolutely devastated.
